I hope so too! I can't check the online status yet, but the e-mail I got said I probably wouldn't be able to until I get the NOA1 hardcopy. My check hasn't cleared yet, but I'll change my signature when it does.

You're lucky! I think it's my router, but usually the longest we can get without Skype disconnecting is an hour or two :) We try to alternate with Google Talk, but that actually goes down more frequently than Skype. I hope I get my NOA1 notification today or tomorrow! I know it's a long wait from there, but that'll be a little peace of mind that I got at least this much right ;)

You will get your hard copy of NOA1 any moment. The longest period of waiting is between the NOA1 and NOA2. My fiance and I try to see each other every 3-4 months. Airplane tickets are damn expensive and for now we decided to sit and wait for the visa approval, but if it is going to take more than 6 months I will fly to see her. Skype works perfect for us.

The past two times, we've only had a 2-4 month wait, but right now neither of us can get off work to go and visit before April. He's going to try and stay for a while in April, though, so hopefully we can make up for all of the time lost. Plane tickets do seem to get more expensive, even within the country, let alone international flights! I am very thankful for Skype.

well we actually decided that he will be visiting me this February as agreed but I don't think I'll go there in April, my ticket just jumped from 800 to €1250!!! this is crazy! Those few months apart is nothing when you look into spending life time together!!! (I'm just trying to feel better when I say that out loud to myself )

P.S. my skype disconnected us after 73 hours only because my connection dropped... We are starting all over again :P

Wow, that's an insane jump in price! I agree that it's nothing compared to a life, although I also agree that it's just comforting ;) My check did get cashed yesterday, but it didn't show up until today. Weirdly, though I paid by check, there's no check # listed with it on my bank account. Oh, and I can check my online status now! It says it's in Initial Review, and that they actually sent the NOA1 out on 1/17. I hope to get the hardcopy version soon!

Hello all,

Just another quick update. I got my NOA1 hardcopy today...and my fiance's name was spelled wrong. I called the number listed on the sheet and had it corrected, and they said I should receive notice in 15 days and to call back if I haven't heard anything. It was painless overall, and I didn't have any hold time. I hope I get the notice with the correction sooner rather than later :)

I understand that feeling completely! I had a hard time sleeping before I got the NOA1 because all my mind was filled with was immigration documents and case statuses :) You should get your NOA1 any day now. And mine actually went in the system on 1/17 though I didn't get notification until 1/20, so they could be behind from the Martin Luther King Jr holiday last Monday. I definitely understand the feeling of wanting to know it's really happening though! It was weird, when I called to get my fiance's name spelling changed, the only odd question was when the operator asked me, "So you're not married yet?" I guess they're trying to catch you in a lie pretty early in the process. But all of us here are going through this legally so we just have to be confident in what we know is true :)

My fiance rang a week ago in regards with form 325A to check if we are submitting in connection with naturalization or "other" and they told him that unfortunately they cannot tell him anything .. so we put down "other" and then specify "fiance visa". I am a little freaking out when it comes to that but well it's too late now... and I do believe they are instructed to make sure any small thing is brought up to light to slow the process down which is really crazy I think...

Yeah staying positive! That's what we need :) wish we had a time and space travel machine! so we could at least spend a few minutes a day together :)

That's exactly what we did on the G-325A form. We checked "other" and wrote in "K1," but fiancee visa is just as good. I think I found that somewhere here on the forums when I was searching for my many questions! I think you'll be fine with what you put, we did the same thing. I try to stay positive too, although it's easier some days than others. My fiance and I are both big Doctor Who fans, so we'd love to borrow his Tardis so we could do time travel :) I do think they intentionally try to slow things down to do less work. Maybe they would be in better moods if they got raises ;)
