Hi everyone! Still waiting. I am packing to go see my love in 2 weeks, I hope Vermont sends Noa2 before I travel. lolll I do not want to have to keep stalking the USCIS sites. We are going to do a proxy marriage, this week, so I can stay with him in his country, till we get the approval, for him to come to usa to for wedding.

This waiting is driving me crazy.

On my timeline it says:Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between May 13, 2012 and May 20, 2012*.

I hope it is accurate.

I-129F - sent: Dec.20. 2011

I-129F - Receipt: January 6, 2012

Wait... proxy marriage??? If you are in ANY way married your I-129F will be invalidated and you'll have to start this whole process again! DO NOT GET MARRIED!

I agree with photomile. ANYTHING that the U.S. government can consider marriage will be grounds for denial of your visa and you'll have to start all over again. I've even heard of the government denying people because they've had engagement parties/ceremonies that are traditional customs in some countries, but look too much like weddings.

Can you please clarify what exactly you're doing?

Please also don't forget that marriage is a legal standing, it will show on background checks. Even if your I-129F is approved you can be denied entry at POE.

even IF you get through POE your Adjustment of Status WILL be denied since you were not free to marry for the K1 which invalidates EVERYTHING and is in some cases grounds for deportation since you would have entered the USA fraudulently

In case anyone's wanting an update... I just called USCIS and was told that CSC is processing November 16th. :( I also emailed my Senator so we'll see what she says. I had spoken to her at the beginning of the process and she said to contact her if 5 months passed.

Igor's List doesn't seem to agree with the Nov 16th thing, though.....

FYI - my Senator was much more helpful than USCIS. She emailed me back very quickly and said that she had called CSC and found that my case was assigned to an officer on May 9th. If we don't get approval within 2 weeks, I'm supposed to call her again.

But now I'm not sure how long it takes between being assigned and being approved. For all I know this person has 500 cases assigned ahead of mine! Anybody know?

That's good! What did you email them?

I have no idea how many cases are assigned either, but another thread in the forum suggests it takes all of half hour to go through one

I just emailed her that it had been five months, but we had spoken at the beginning of this process and she said to talk to her after five months. I had originally talked to her about tourist visa denials and not knowing where else to turn. So she advised us to try the fiance visa and to talk to her if it took more than 5 months.

Yeah, I've heard that actually going through a petition can take even 5 minutes! I'm just wondering if this person has a nice little pile on their desk or a file cabinet FULL of them!

It's like when you're at the grocery store and there's 5 registers open, you get in a line and even though you're 5 back, there might be someone in front of you that needs a price check or an item doesn't have a bar code on it, so one cashier is able to work faster than the others. So there is somewhat of an order to things but it's not a perfect system.

We can assume there is some order, but there's no point to trying to figure it out. I applied in Late February for K1 and we received our NOA2 on May 2nd. I have no clue why our petition seemed to have jumped ahead of hundreds of people. I know some others who applied back in December and are still waiting for NOA2.
