uhmm are all you guys have senators/congressmen when you filed your i-129f?

Every person who lives in the United States has a member of Congress they can call in the event they need assistance with a government agency. Each state has at least two senators and one representative.

Today is 5 months from our NOA1. Just called USCIS help desk to inquire about a 'outside the normal processing time' request, they said for VSC they are processing at 5 months, but are processing date 12/4/11. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up...looks like it could be another 2 weeks before we hear anything (assuming 5 months is really 5 months)

Calling my congressman now to see if they can help.

I was going to call today as well. We have the same timeline (NOA1-Dec 16th) and I guess we will be waiting 2 more weeks. This process is so annoying. It is hard to see other people get approved with NOAs from January :(

I mentioned to my fiance about going through a congressman so that may be our next step.

The wait is awful. Five months should be long enough.

I am at the point of if they are going to deny us just get on with it!

I think you'll definitely get an approval so don't worry. You just ended up as one of those unfortunate statistics. "The neglected petitions" as I refer to them. I don't know if we'll ever understand this process fully because it's just strange how some petitions seem to just linger on in limbo with no action. Almost like a filing mistake or misplacement on a desk or something. It's either that or a complete lack of consistency in the adjudicators or maybe even the dispersal of the work.

I know how you feel. We're 12/12 and still waiting too... :( Everytime Igor's List gets updated I feel a little more hopeless. It seems to be so much further ahead than what CSC and VSC claim...

A lot of it has to be scripted. They just want to keep people passive for as long as possible. I know members have called in the past and received a range of processing dates with little consistency. Really all one can do is watch the trends here. It's really one of our only windows into what's going on in this process. And also playing with the receipt numbers ha

How exactly are people getting through to a human in the USCIS right now anyway?

go through the automated process to check on your case status and you eventually get to the point where there are no more options. At this point I start mashing the numbers on the keypad and eventually it will ring through to someone in customer service ;)

well, just got the email....RFE.

I swear I have the most useless Attorney ever.

Yuck! I'm so sorry :( Do you know what the RFE was for?

Hopefully your attorney is earning some of the money you pay her/him and can courier whatever documents you need back to USCIS quickly!
