Did the early biometrics in a totally different city (and state!) Atlanta instead of San Francisco - no problemo we just walked right in

now the waiting game for the appointment interview begins!!

Wow, I didn't know you could do that either. Interesting to know.

Email received from USCIS yesterday (2/14/2012) informing me they have sent me the letter for my fingerprinting date.

Sounds good to me!

Out of curiousity, where can I find out how long the average processing time is for overseas naturalizations? On the USCIS site I can only pick field offices and obviously none of them are in charge of me and I'm just wondering?

05/2007 - got married in Germany

05/2007 - filed I-130 via DCF in Frankfurt

08/2007 - interview to prove bona fide marriage

09/2007 - hubby PCSed to GA

10/2007 - hubby deployed to Iraq

04/2008 - hubby on RnR in Germany

08/2008 - received CR-1 visa

12/2008 - flew to GA alone to welcome home the hubs

09/2009 - PCSed to CA

03/2010 - we're pregnant!

06/2010 - applied for German "BBG" to retain German citizenship during naturalization

08/2010 - BBG granted

09/2010 - filed ROC

12/2010 - received 10 year GC

12/2010 - our little miracle is born!!!

01/2011 - PCSed to Germany

01/2012 - filed N-400 for overseas naturalization

03-15-2012 - Best of Both Worlds, I'm a dual citizen :-)

I had a quick google search and couldn't really find anything :(. I don't know if you can call the service center you submitted your application to or if there's a contact number on your NOA you can call? Is your spouse in the Military? If so, you might be able to find out a contact number specifically for military/their spouses applications.

Had an appointment for finger printing in Los Angeles, CA next week. Walked in today to try and re-schedule and they took my fingerprints right away.

My parents(timeline Deathstrike_1) said they received some letter stating they need to bring in their Drivers Licenses to the interview. No dates though. Nothing for me either. Looks like they forgot my case :no::no:

Looking at other Jacksonville, FL processing, looks like they kind of wait for 3 weeks (which the FP lady stated) anyway. anytime now I guess.

I need this naturalization to be processed fast ..... so I can upgrade my F2A to CR1 before NOA2 on I130.

let me welcome you to the VJ/USCIS jargon :devil: :devil: :devil: :devil: :devil: :devil: :devil:

That part doesnot apply to you, it does to me as I recently (sept 2011) applied for my spouse (married in july) for visa. As I am LPR now, the I130 category filing is F2A (processing time 6.1 months at CA service center, visa # availability from NVC ~2yrs). When I become naturalized, I can upgrade my I130 from F2A to CR1, which makes a visa # immediately available (after the USCIS processing) so we donot have to wait 2 years. And USCIS processing is also a bit faster (website says 5months).

After I get the naturalization cert at oath, I need to call uscis with upgrade request and send them proof of naturalization.

Sounds like they got the YL (yellow letter). Still some progress so yay! It looks like scheduling for an interview for them will follow soon. I hope they schedule you soon for your interview as well. By you upgrading from F2A to CR1 is that the same as K3? Or is K3 applicable if your spouse is overseas?

Sounds like they got the YL (yellow letter). Still some progress so yay! It looks like scheduling for an interview for them will follow soon. I hope they schedule you soon for your interview as well. By you upgrading from F2A to CR1 is that the same as K3? Or is K3 applicable if your spouse is overseas?

K3 is non immigrant visa, filed with I129F. Way too much hassle (and useless now since CR1 is just as fast). IR1/CR1 is immigrant visa (married >2yrs = IR1, 10yr GC upon arrival, <2yrs = CR1, 2 yr conditional GC upon arrival).
