N-400 JANUARY 2012 FILERS

I am kind of freaking out.. I mailed my application a week ago and since I did cashiers check I haven't been able to track if they've cashed it or not.. Is it normal? I keep seeing within a week response for almost everyone in the thread. Am I just being paranoid?t

I used a cashiers check too and I called the bank after I received an email confirmation that the USCIS received my application. I just give them the info of the half portion of the cashiers check and the lady in the bank confirmed that my check was cashed... Try to give your bank a call. We don't know maybe they can give you an info bout your check...i

Thanks!On February 7, 2012, we mailed you an appointment notice to have your fingerprints taken. Please follow the instructions on the notice. just go to the ASC earlier than what your appointment notice says and get them done. it's as simple as that.

But be aware they might not be happy seeing you taking somebody else's spot. This is what happened to me when I came there a day before than I was scheduled, and asked them if I could have my biometrics taken today instead of tomorrow because today I have a day off and tomorrow I am at school all day and would hate missing a day of classes a week before exams. Well, they let me in, but the biometrics tech kept telling "you took somebody else's spot" and "if you can't come on the scheduled day, you must reschedule your appointment".

By the way, if somebody wants to update the list, pleast put there that I had early biometrics on 1/31/2012.

It is really totally dependent on the office. We've done early walk-ins twice around 2-3:00 in the afternoon and the place was empty. There were more workers than customers--about 9 workers to 2 customers. Try the afternoon because it seems like most appointments reported are always in the morning. We didn't even give a reason...just handed them the appointment letter and she handed back the clipboard with form and the study book.

i have a question....i read here somewhere that if you had you biometrics within the last 15 months you are not required to do biometrics again....but when i checked my status it says that im scheduled for biometrics... last time i done my FP was january 2011.. so technically im still within the '15 month' rule....i know the biometric fee is non-refundable whether you are schedule for it or not and paid it...but i could have save driving 3 hours just to have my FP all over again..is there really '15 month' rule for biometrics?
