one post removed for tos violation:

Condone or instruct, either directly or indirectly, others on how to commit fraudulent or illegal immigration activities in any way, shape, manner or method.

also, one post quoting tos violation removed and post returned below.

Are you sure of this? Remember he will be put in AP, so what happens when durning AP this information is discovered? Now he has given false information, there will never be a chance of getting a visa.

But it is okay if you lie, then it will be your own consquenses. You should THINK too, before you tell someone to lie on a federal application.

if you where not charged you do not have a criminal record, you where arrested and held but no charge. but if i am not mistake the question asks have you ever been arrested and charged then i would answer truthfully, yes i was arrested but not charged, you never know they may know that you was arrested but never charged with a crime, who knows

HINT, always answer questions truthfully, may bite you in the butt at a later date

i understand that to never lie on the immigration but if i said yes im sure my visa its going to denial

Telling the truth is not a sure denial. Lying, not only is a denial, may cause a ban. Egypt is notorious with its AP to all males. They WILL FIND OUT, trust me. The background checks are meticulous. So, answer yes and gather all DOCUMENTATION that proves your record is clean.

Don't ever do anything you're not willing to explain the paramedics.

An arrest is not a conviction. You can be arrested and still not have a criminal record. Anyone who fights the charge and is found not guilty has an arrest but no conviction. An arrest alone is not going to be a bad thing all by itself, but they will look into it. They US will see no more arrests, and no convictions and my guess is that it will not be an issue. If you were convicted like your friend, then you have issues.

Since you have a clean police cert you have no convictions. That is what counts.

You need to clarify at the interview what happened after you were arrested. Were you charged? Were charges dropped and for what reason? They may ask you if you smoke weed now. I sure hope you do not.

If you lie and say you were never arrested then they will find out, and then you will never be believed again.

Just so you know, if you admit to using drugs in the recent past (within the last several years) you will probably get denied a visa until you can show with repeated random drug tests that you are 'clean'. This process could take a year or more and they might never give you a visa. Just saying based on other stories we have seen reported here. Honesty is usually the best policy but here there is no easy answer.

This is the easiest question - yes you were arrested and quite honestly, they already know - regardless of what your in-country police certificate says. I am sure you were fingerprinted when you were arrested yes? So as soon as you are fingerprinted again at the consulate, logic says it will come up yes?

So therefore YES is the only answer

Good luck

AP, AP, AP you are from Eygpt it will come up so tell the truth. My husband is from Morocco and while on AP they went to the neighborhood police and did a very expensive inquiry. In Morocco the embassy has been known to speak to friends, family, and neighbors. They find out everything you think they will not know. Tell the truth...good luck

A Hispanic Egyptian, that is unusual.

Have you ever been arrested (i.e. had handcuffs put on you by a police officer, taken to the police station, been finger printed, etc.)? You must answer "yes"

Have you been convicted (i.e. has a judge ever made a ruling decision of guilt or no-contest on any crime that has been filed against you)? You must answer "yes" - If you were only arrested, but not convicted, you can answer "no" to this question.

Have you been convicted, or had adjudication withheld, to any crime(s)...(i.e. has a judge made a ruling decision of guilt or no contest with adjudication being withheld (i.e. being removed from your record once terms of sentence are complete))? You must answer "yes".
