Federal Income tax

One of the documents requested by nvc when submitting form I-864 is federal income tax return for the last 3 years. Please I was just wondering if tax return transcript is the preferable to the regular tax return. I don't know the one they prefer. Please advise.

I have always gone with transcripts as they are easy to get, and you don't need W-2's that way...less paper for them to lose.

I send both you. Transcript + copies of my long taxes. No problem

Simple is good , as is neat and orderly. If you send too much , they have to look at it all and make sure it matches up thus creating / wasting more time potentially. Just my two cents.

I agree!!! I was discouraged by factr that sending my regular tax return demanded that I also submit W-2s and 1099s etc so I went the IRS tax transcript way;simple and no hassles, less paper work indeed. You could order it online on the IRS website or simply walk into your LOCAL IRS OFFICE nearby and request for the documents ...it is free
