Not in this lifetime! Nope, absolutely not! I have been through a lot in my life and I would definitely say that the immigration process is the worst thing I have ever endured. Thankfully, Kenny and I are very happy :-)

"Foreign" is relative :o . Every time I go the country I was born, I am told I am 'foreigner' no less than 10 times. Having lived in several countries for long periods of time, I sort of don't feel foreigner anywhere. At same time, in the past 30-35 years, all relationships I had were with women of different nationality than my own.

To me is not the 'foreign'; it is the 'click', regardless of nationality/origin what matters.

Yup know what you mean, but I had to toss the foreigner comment in there as that is something Amy told me as well... she had never planned to marriage a foreigner.... longer story there.

Interesting point on the foreigner thing...hearing me being called one was like, huh? Well I guess I was, I am an American, and I was in Manila and Bangkok....soooo, haha, but still weird to hear it. I was like, 'Im not a foreigner'

I would never want to go through another long distance relationship again; however, this one is worth it though. But if I had to start over, I would rather something much closer.

there are LOTS of people who shop by 'breed' for partners here on VJ. and websites to help them do it.

Absolutely !

and a few of the posters on here whom are saying they didnt pick by country have a short memory. I remember a thread discussing IMBRA many moons ago, and saw a few people in this thread mentioning 'cherryblossoms' and another Pinay website where they met their fiance.

I think a lot of us have a type of woman we are attracted to, how we meet them is another thing. Some guys prefer blondes, or women with large ta-ta's....etc.

Yes exactly !

I just noticed that some of those that used the Pinay (or other Ethnic/Regional) websites (per their own admission) are now 'pretending' that they are "above" such behavior.

Gotcha Brian...I will be the first to admit that I am attracted to Asian women, Filipina's to be exact, lol.

You have my respect for being honest and sincere! Ya, sometimes you have to pick out the dog breed so you don't end up with a mutt

Well, I don't see my marriage ever ending - things are too good, and we figured out how to work out anything that comes up. We've been through things that would've ended a less solid relationship. Immigration wasn't the hardest thing we've dealt with.

I didn't plan to get involved with someone from another country back when we met. I actually wasn't planning to get into any sort of romantic relationship with anyone. If something really odd happened, and I found myself single again.... well, I guess in that unlikely scenario, I'd see what would happen. The process sucked, but it was really worth it. If someone asked me about it, I'd say it was worth doing it for the right person, but to be prepared for a challenge.

If some weird law passed or something, and he had to go back and we had to start all over, I wouldn't hesitate to go through it again to get him back here.

If God forbid your marriage did not work out and you ended up in divorce, would you consider doing this process for a second time?

Call me crazy but I am going to do this again. I went through the entire process 07-08 and upon her going through her medical we broke up (long story).. I met my now financee back in March while I lived in the Philippines. We have waited for me to settle back in as well as me starting a new job soon and deciding whether to go back and marry there or just do the K1.. Stay tuned for timelines within a few months. What I would not do is hire an Attorney this time to do my paperwork. I have learned it is easier just following the great people on VJ's instruction. My Attorney did nothing but cause me more paperwork that was unnecessary.. Details to follow agian lol...
