Hmm, I suppose you can call again. Wouldn't hurt! And if you don't have the case number when you call, you can always try again right before midnight ;)

The DS-3032 is the Choice of Agent form. No, it doesn't have to be sent first, but acceptance of the DS-3032 means the invoicing of the IV bill. So if you want the IV bill to be invoiced a few days after the AOS, then you have to send the DS-3032 first. Otherwise, NVC will be waiting for YOU to send the DS-3032 before invoicing the IV bill.

Again, a summary of NVC (for non-EP folk and no online forms):

-get case number, IIN, give email addresses

-email DS-3032

-pay AOS bill

-once PAID, send AOS package (or wait to send with IV)

-pay IV (dependent upon acceptance of DS-3032)

-once PAID, send IV package

-respond to any checklists

-get case complete

-get interview date

-case is sent to consulate/embassy

Grats! kicking.gifkicking.gif

Call back and get your Invoice Identification Number (called IIN here on VJ). This is needed to sign onto the payment portal and pay the AOS and IV fees.

While you're also on the phone with an operator, give over both the petitioner and beneficiary's email addresses. This is so NVC can communicate through email instead of snail mailing which can take weeks or months.

Then, send NVC a DS-3032 by following the email template linked in the first post in this thread.

So i have to wait for an email or is there a website?

Oops forget it I found it on the first page :)

Saylin, thanks a lot for your responses! I am doing the Ds-230 now. Can I hand write it. I want her just to sign it then send it so I can fill it out. Can I fill it out by hand or does it have to be typed??? Thanks!

Nope, it doesn't have to be filled out on the computer, it can be hand written!

If you're gonna have her sign the DS-230 (make sure she signs/dates ONLY part 1, NOT part 2). And I'd suggest making her sign a couple, just in case if you get a checklist and need to change something. If you have a couple of DS-230s on hand with her signature, you'll save time :)

Thanks again, Saylin. Also, my wife got the police certificate with a stamp from the Ministry of Interior in Egypt. On the NVC website it says that's all they need. However, some people have been getting it stamped from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, do you know anything about this for the NVC (from a ny country?)

Nope, sorry. My PCC didn't need to be stamped. I'd suggest calling NVC and asking. And make sure you ask at least 5 different operators as it's almost guaranteed to get different answers.
