I finally get to join the NVC club. Supposedly they received our petition at the office on the 30th. No case number as of Friday of last week. The last time I called them they told me they had it in the building but hadn't scanned it or done the data entry. So, we're waiting again. It is still nice to be out of USCIS after 175 days in their 'prison'.

Trips:

Jul2010 - Trip two!

Nov2010 - Trip Three, Got engaged :)

Feb2011 - Trip Four. Spring Festival, Lucky Money all around :D

I don't know what the "instruction package" refers to either. I didn't fill it in!

Time for review of packages vary, but for most January filers, you could count it in days, usually less than a week! :)

Great! Let's hope that it stays that way for us.

Guys, this thread is sooo last month news

I thought this thread is for those whose applications were received in Jan?

For NVC, they want either the most recent year or the last THREE years. If she doesn't have the last three years, then don't send two, just send the last one.

She's already done her 2011 taxes? And gotten the tax transcript?

She is only REQUIRED to submit 2010 (and 2011 if your interviewer asks for it), but more years makes a stronger case.

She ( the joint sponsor ) was aboout to file it but she has 2011 information ready. My wife already filed the tax and she obtained the tax return money.

The joint sponsor has the last 3 years ( 2009, 2010, 2011) but bshe told me the last 2 years are required.

Then once she has filed 2011, that information can be brought to the interview.

I told her to give me 2008,2009,2010 and to leave 2011 for me and i will need it later for the interview. She is insisting that it is only the last 2 years that are required. She been telling me she has been in the US for 38 years and gave support to some people already and that she knwos about affidavit support...lol She is insisting that she is right about the last 2 years required not last 3 years

She is my aunt and working for a hospital

Inform her that things have drastically changed in 38 years.

Give her the following link to read the I-864 instructions for herself: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=b70f8875d714d010VgnVCM10000048f3d6a1RCRD&vgnextchannel=db029c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD

It is EITHER the most recent year (2010) OR the last three years (2008, 2009, 2010).
