Im so jealous to those who got their case number last Friday! Congrats to all of you. I forgot to call NVC and when I remembered, it was already Saturday morning on the east. There were no operators available since NVC's operators are only from Monday-Friday. I really missed it! On Monday, I'm really goin' to call NVC early morning. I hope I will have my case number already and also my son's case number. As of Friday, they still haven't received the file of my son's IR-2 petition from USCIS. Mine was received Dec. 19 at NVC.

Anyway since its already 2012, will we be required to submit the latest/most recent tax return of 2011? Or the 2010 income tax will do? I know this is the tax season already. I hope they will still honor the 2010.

Please shed light. Thank you!

You can check the AVR and see if it has been updated (probably not, but you have nothing to loose). As for the taxes, they will not expect to see 2011 returns until after April 15th.

I still dont have a case number. I just called today. And the NVC received date has changed from Dec 19th to Dec 23rd. Its weird. I dont know anymore whos telling the truth? I have spoken to a number of operators last week telling me that they got it Dec 19th. Anyway, what matters is that they received my case. :) I'll just have to wait for a few more days or weeks perhaps.

I am currently awaiting a case number to be assigned by NVC and thought I would join the fun.

My documents were received on Dec. 19 and as of today, I don't have a case number. Hoping to get one in the next few days.

Also, if anyone could take a look at my thread about whether or not we need to get a police certificate from the UK and give me their opinion: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/346149-police-certificate-overseas-10-months/

The short story:

my wife lived in the UK for 10 months

DS-230 instructions on State Dept. website say she needs PCC if she lived in another country for 12 MONTHS

Visa reciprocity page on same site says she needs one if over 6 MONTHS in the UK

NVC operator says they only require PCC if over 12 months in another country, but it's possible Tokyo Embassy could require it

Tokyo Embassy website lists the same requirements as the State Dept. that it's another country for 12 MONTHS

Should I pay extra for an expedited certificate or hold off and hope for no RFE?

Thanks!

The same thing happened to me, the received date suddenly changed from Dec 12 to 16... I asked why and the operator said the 12th is when it came in the mail. The 16th is when they scanned it as "arrived". In other words, when someone realized it came in the mail

Hold on, it's a boring and nerve wrecking wait, but it's almost over. Things move fast after that.

If I were you, I'd get the UK police certificate. Just in case. You might have to pay for it, but it might save you a lot of time later. As I always say for this visa process: it's better to be safe than sorry.

Just spoke with an operator, they are all so cold on the phone!

Still no interview date, hopefully next week! How long does it usually take? I imagine Australia wouldn't have much of an interview backlog?

At least the mythical '2nd week of the month' is next week...

my case was completed on Dec 7th and an agent( he was patient enough to let me finish my statement of inquiry) told me the date on 12th...mind you, the day before I was told by another agent to check back in few weeks. Once the agetn told me the date, I got an email couple of hours later about the update and the AVR message was then changed.

keep checking in, specify you just want to know if a date has been scheduled for the interview....should not take more than two weeks after CC unless there is a backlog at th embassy

GOD has been WONDERFUL!!!

This probably means your AOS fee is being invoiced. Just keep checking and once you're able to log in, you should be able to pay the AOS fee.

And yes, email the DS-3032 asap!
