Rujby: the fact your wife wasn't hospitalized is good news BUT she MUST rest and take care of herself! At the hospital she would have been forced to do so, now she really, really should take some time off work to rest and get better.

Some women in there 1st trimester of pregnancy get really sick all the time and lose a lot of weight, it's an "alarm" system from their body that they should seriously listen to.

Thank you Laure, but she rest a lot, spending whole day resting. this bay is too much. She went to an ultra sound lastly and they saw the baby : legs crossed and a hand on the cheek...lol

Does NVC take time to reply to email?

Yes - anywhere from 1 day to 3 weeks, depending.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

An update on my progress: NVC replied to my email that they have received the DS-3032.

As I am preparing for the IV packet. I have a quick question:

Do I have to make a second scanned photocopy of everything in the IV packet and send it along with the original/certified copies?

Do I need to do that for the AOS packet, too? Or is it just the IV packet?

Thank you. And best of luck to all of us.

reg.ula.tion.me.ooow.2011 // tomcat.fight

to do list:
file i-130, petition for alien relative
get immigrant visa
get ssn card and green card
get employment authorization - not required
file I-751, petition to remove the conditions of residence (before 2nd year expires upon entry)
become a US citizen

Thank you Visajourney!

For the IV package, the ONLY things you need photocopies of are the certificates (birth and marriage). You don't need to include copies of the form itself or anything. The reason for the photocopies of the certificates are so they can return the originals/certified copies back at the time of the interview.

And no, you don't need to include copies of anything for the AOS package.

I say 2 weeks from the 25th.

TO start calling on 2 weeks?

Wisely i will take your advice into account, my wife will have to make a big effort to call them very often. I was just gonna call as i know she is not able to really talk over the phone due to her sickness

I only called NVC operator once. I looked at the timelines for others, when they received NOA2 and how long after they received case number, then when I decided it was about right for them to have received my file, I phoned spoke to a live person and got my case number. Also as DH works and I don't I have been getting everything together that is needed. Periodically I email him links so he knows why I have to have things in a certain way. Also I made myself agent so I could deal with everything. You will note that Saylin said she did everything and she was the beneficiary.

I know you are very concerned for your wife right now and I really don't think it is necessary for her to have to do the phoning at this stage. She must be worried enough with you not being with her without giving her another task.

Hope it progresses quickly.

Haha, yup, and accurate depiction of my own ability to dance. And congrats on not being a menace to society! :)

Only Canadian society, still waiting for the UK report.

Yup, I did everything. The ONLY thing my husband did was to scan his completed I-864, pay stubs, cover letter, and employment letter. I did everything else at NVC. I did all the calling, I emailed all the forms (including the AOS). I think my husband just called the AVR once to see what it was all about laughing.gif

Like you though, my husband works full-time (then and now). Back in 2010 and 2011 while I was in Canada, I didn't work, so I spent the entire day in front of my computer. And I spent most of that time on VJ learning all I could about the next steps in the process, mainly NVC. That's what I did for the five months we were at USCIS.

It honestly doesn't matter if it's the petitioner or beneficiary doing all the calling or sending packages. As long as one is doing it. There are no consequences if the beneficiary calls, or sends packages. As long as NVC gets what they ask for, they could care less. All situations are different, but most petitioners have full-time jobs and don't have time to deal with all that NVC entails. That's when a beneficiary can help out, especially if they don't have a full-time job or have more time on their hands.

Usually when you can't sign in, it means they're invoicing your fees ;) Once you're able to log in, you should be able to pay :)
