lol hum i see, if they nice with you, i bet you found a man as operator. You know how they are, when they hear a nice talking woman they tend to be nicer or keeping you on the line for a bit longer...lol

Haha, no, the men were the "rudest" (weren't really that rude) and mostly sounded tired. The women were generally really nice to me, even if they were trying to get off the call quickly. I worked for a university doing some cold calling for political research, and it was the WORST job. People were awful to us even though we were just asking for their opinion, not money! So whenever I'm calling someone whose job it is to answer phones, I try to be a nice as possible; it's like having worked as a waitress and after that knowing that you should always leave big tips!

I see what you mean, at my job you have no choice than to be all the time nice to the customer, for your call are monitored and will be listened tomorrow. Not all the calls are monitored as we are receiving over 100.000 calls a month and we have 20 QA ( Quality assurance ) to listen to some of them. But if you got caught being mean to a customer, you are in trouble!

Good morning my NVC filers, i am happy for all of you that have had their interview date in march. What is the best way while calling NVC to know that they received your package, is it by listening to the AVR ( is it updated on time ) or by talking to an operator?

The AVR will NOT tell you when the package has been received at NVC. The first message the AVR plays is the case number being assigned. But remember, the AVR is always a few days behind. The best route is always calling the operator for up to date information.

We called an operator yesterday and he said our package should be received mid February. Was it a way to tell us do not call everyday or you think the package will really take that long to get there?

It's definitely a way to not have you call until February.

When I called NVC for the first time on a Monday to see if my case had been assigned, the operator told me to wait until next week before calling again. I of course didn't listen. The very next day, I had my case number :)

And it shouldn't take that long for your case to get there. Over the last few days, I've seen case numbers assigned in about 2 weeks now. It seems like NVC is speeding up a bit on assigning a case number.

lol. I have been talking to a cousin of mine and some other people living in the US, they told me it is not good for the beneficiary to be too much involved in calling and to let the petitionner call instead, do you agree with that? They say that they will find it too suspicious

rofl.gif I disagree COMPLETELY! My husband (the petitioner) NEVER called NVC. It was always me calling (the beneficiary). Why would they become suspicious?

Well, that's a bunch of poop. I was the one calling every single day to stay on top of things. Never had a problem. As long as you don't go overboard and call every HOUR, then you'll have no issues calling NVC.

No problem.

And yes, there's some people that are the petitioners, some that are beneficiaries, and sometimes both are signed up.

Sometimes even you start thinking positive, this could not prevent you from being sick or going through a bad time as that baby in her belly is doing. That baby is too much, she got dehydrated lastly and was obliged to go to emegency room. I wish i could be there to tell him or her to give mommy a break..lol
