I woke up this morning to find the interview letter in my email

It's March 27, a little later than I expected, I was hoping for an early March date, but hey, happy dance!! :dancing: :dancing: :dancing:

Congrats! Hope the police certificate works out...

Still calling NVC (and playing dumb about how interviews are assigned), still waiting for that date! *crossing fingers*

I woke up this morning to find the interview letter in my email

It's March 27, a little later than I expected, I was hoping for an early March date, but hey, happy dance!! :dancing: :dancing: :dancing:

I already called a panel physician and scheduled my medical for March 13. I gotta go to Paris and it's gonna cost me an extra 200 bucks in train tickets, but I'd rather have it done sooner than later.

OK now the puzzling question: with the interview letter, there's the list of documents that were/must be/don't need to be provided, and here's what it says:

CORRESPONDENCE INSTRUCTIONS C

1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1 Y

1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 2 Y

2 - PASSPORT Y

3 - BIRTH CERTIFICATE O

4 - ADOPTION F

5 - MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE O

6 - MARRIAGE TERMINATION F

7 - COURT RECORDS F

F - FINANCIAL EVIDENCE Y

9 - MILITARY RECORDS F

10 - FRANCE POLICE CERTIFICATE O

10 - TURKEY POLICE CERTIFICATE F

FEE PAYMENT $

PHOTOGRAPH Y

F - PETITIONER MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE F

F - PETITIONER BIRTH CERTIFICATE F

F = not necessary for this application.

Sooo, they don't want me to provide my Turkish police certificate???

I lived in Turkey during 5 years, so it seems very strange to me... I'm still struggling to obtain it, but hopefully, it will be available before the end of March. However, I was just going to take costly measures to ensure I do get it (Turkish bureaucracy...), but now I don't know what to do anymore...

Congrats on your interview date

Grats on the case complete! I'd really really really appreciate it if you filled in your timeline! I can then add your timeticks to my NVC processing times spreadsheet. It'd also help many other members!

Grats on the interview date!! And look at that, it's not the second week of the month :P

As for the PCC, I would suggest contacting three places: NVC, DOS, and the French consulate/embassy. Explain your situation and the letter above, and see what they have to say. Then report back :)

Did you call up an operator or the AVR to find out what date the package was sent out on?

No I didn't call an operator since case complete yet, I was giving myself a few days off of calling, and the surprise came by email!

I'll call NVC and DOS, but the embassy in France doesn't take phone calls. They only give a fax number for communication... welcome to the 3rd millenium! We do have a fax in my office but anyone can pick up the transmissions if they reply by fax only...

France is similar to Montreal then (a French connection!) since Montreal doesn't have a number to contact either. They do have an email address. Does France?

Well, at least call NVC and DOS and ask about it. If you do get the PCC by the interview, I'd suggest bringing it, just in case. You never know with these officers...

Yes. Once they receive it and it's been processed, a case number will be assigned.

You do NOT send any documents until you pay fees, which occurs AFTER a case number has been assigned.

Right now, the ball is in NVC's court, and they're the ones that need to take action before you do.

Just keep calling NVC everyday and asking if a case number has been assigned. When it has, get the case number from the operator, as well as the Invoice Identification Number (needed to sign into the payment portal and pay bills), and tell the operator both your email addresses.

Hum i see, i just wanted to be sure, because i have a to get some stuffs to get ready. Like

1- My birth certificate. i sent it to my wife, i have seen on the forum that it will need to be translated into english. So i will have my wife brought it to the same office where we translated our act of marriage. However, this office is in NY and my wife is in NJ, as she pregnant now, couldn t we have another office in NJ made the translattion this time?

2- And get ready the Joint sponsor stuffs ( I-864 and tax transcript of 2008,2009,2010 ) and 2011 tax information for the interview day for both my wife and joint sponsor.

3- After i pay the fee, what are the first documents they will ask from me?

I will most certainly bring it, and I'll keep harassing the Turkish consulate about it!! I was just so surprised when I saw the F next to it...

I don't really see any reason why they would not require it. I lived there 5 years so it's clearly stated on the instructions that in my situation, I need it.

The birth certificate doesn't need to be translated at the same spot as you did before. As long as the translator is capable, then it can be done in NJ.

The first fee that will be paid is the AOS ($88), so the first package you can send will be the AOS (I-864, tax info, etc).

The second fee (a few days after the first) will be the IV ($404), which includes the DS-230, and all the certificates, among other things.

I will most certainly bring it, and I'll keep harassing the Turkish consulate about it!! I was just so surprised when I saw the F next to it...

Yes, it's definitely weird that it has an 'F' beside it, but it can be a simple typo. That's why I suggested calling to confirm whether it is or not.

And I really hope you get your PCC soon. It's been quite awhile.. blink.gif

I applied for it on Dec 13, after a month of fighting to have them recognize that they should let me apply. A lot of fun...

In case it's a typo, do you think the operator would be able to tell me?

I'm so glad all I had to deal with was Canada for a PCC, and it arrived in the mail after like 7 days. Unlike you on the other hand... dry.gif

Yeah my French one came in the mail in more or less 10 days too. And I think Turkish citizen applying in Turkey or at a consulate abroad get it on the same day!! Cases like mine just seem to be very uncommon... Strange cause there are a lot of expats in Turkey.

Did you see my little question? I might have posted it while editing after your replied. :)

I believe that yes, an operator should be able to tell you. I remember there was someone in this thread that had a typo on their letter and the operator told them so (if I remember correctly).

OK, thanks! I found an email for the IV section of the embassy in France. I should probably wait for them to receive my file before I contact them?

Yes, that'd be a good idea. They probably wouldn't be able to help you until they received your case and knew what you were talking about.
