Oh great, as we are currently, at NVC stage, i will pray God that he has everything worked fast so that before april, we finish with interview. I would not like them to ask us tax 2011, because this january she just add her sister as dependent to earn more money in the tax return as her mother not working and will not fill tax. Now let's say for example we got an interview in around march 25th, do you think the embassy may request 2011 tax from us at the interview?

lol the household size was three early this january, but she wanted to earn more money in the tax return, she just add her sister as dependent which complicate our case.smh

If I were you, I'd start looking for a joint sponsor. You're pushing your luck hoping to get an interview before mid-April when you haven't even gotten your NVC case number yet! I hope it works for you, but maybe time to set up a back up plan?

Noone can say for sure, but they could. Maybe you can ask in your country's forum if the usually ask for that or not. In some places, they seem to request the previous year transcript fairly early, from what I've read.

What you'll have to send now is 2008, 2009 and 2010. I don't know when exactly they start requesting the previous year return, but it doesn't seem to be the case yet. However, the embassy might request it.

you think they might request it even though we got an interview in march?

Remember, you're both from different countries, so the wait time is gonna vary. I believe there's a slight backlog at Nigeria, so you might be waiting a bit.

Really? The instructions make it seem like the joint (or substitute) sponsor needs to only be responsible for their own household and the immigrant. I'm not sure why they would require that the joint sponsor also take care of the USC and their dependents...

Doesn't matter for my situation, but just clarifying.

Oh, you might be right. We didn't need a joint sponsor, so I never really read the instructions for that laughing.gif

If an officer wants to see 2011 tax information, then they can request it, whether it's after April 17th or not. I'm not sure how strict Haiti is, but I'd suggest not procrastinating on 2011 taxes. Have it ready for your interview, whenever that will be.

Unfortunately, since she wanted more money on the tax return, she now has to deal with the fact that she needs a joint sponsor as she can't support a household of 4.

I was checking on Haiti's embassy, they request for affidavit support, which is tax transcript , right? i know for sure NVC will not have time to request us tax transcript 2011, however the embassy will. Now when i got the co sponsor information ready, do i still need to have the co sponsor filled the I-864? once we do, we will not file it to nobody and just show it filled to the officer at the embassy iof they request, right?

Affidavit of Support is a package of documents, which yes, includes tax information (such as tax transcripts).

NVC won't ask for 2011 tax information until April 17th, but each embassy/consulate has their own rules, so the embassy in Haiti might ask for 2011 tax information.

If you have a co-sponsor, then both the petitioner AND the co-sponsor have to fill out an I-864. Both are also required to send in tax information. And then only the co-sponsor is required to send in proof of US citizenship/residency.

If the petitioner does NOT meet the poverty guidelines, then NVC will request a co-sponsor. They won't accept the AOS package until poverty guidelines have been met.

As NVC will not ask 2011 tax, we will not have to show them tax transcript os 2011 but 2010. Now once NVC scedule us anm interview and i go to the interview, i am sure that the officer will ask tax 2011. Now as NVC did not request from my wife 2011, i will have her fill the I-864, her and the co sponsor. NVC will not have time to review this document as they did not ask it. but the officer will at the embassy by asking 2011. ( already filled by co sponsor and petionner . Will the officer take time to review it by a simple look on the day of the interview. do you see where i am coming from?
