She could probably call and ask if the expedite request was approved or not. They never really told you, did they?

They never told me, if it is approved or not. What makes me feel they were interested in approving it, it is because officer MINA called my wife and tell her that she wants to approve the expedite and that he just need my wife doctor to fax her medical information. The hospital faxed the documents and 2 days after, we got the RFE.

It doesn't hurt to call and ask what's up, but don't count on the operator having any idea what's going on with your case. I submitted evidence for our expedite on a Monday, called on Friday to find out if it was approved or not and the operator was just totally confused and had no information for me (and got annoyed with me for asking). Then Saturday we got our NOA2! Seems like even if they are reviewing your case right now, the operator might still not know. Luckily the NVC operators are more clued in.

I need to know if anyone knows....tomorrow the NVC will be receiving what they requested on an RFE. Will they process my case right when they get it or will it go back to the end of pile?

Don't know, but Sonshyne got from RFE to case complete pretty quickly (within a few days), so that seems to indicate that you don't go to the back of the line.

My wife just read the letter and they say we did not meet the guideline for the expedite request. They say after consideration, what consideration? this is heartless

Once NVC receives it in the mailroom, it gets sorted and then sent to the appropriate department. Once an officer gets to your package, they'll review it and if no more RFEs, then complete your case.

Remember, reviewing of packages has been fast over the last few months, typically a week or two. If there's no more RFEs, then you should probably have your case complete next week :)

Grats! kicking.gif And you could have joined once you got your NOA2. That's what most people do :P

And just keep calling an operator every single day and you should have your case number soon. VJ member sweetapple has a NOA2 date 5 days before yours and just got their case number two days ago. Yours is right around the corner :)

After all that action through the NVC, I feel weirdly powerless again...like waiting for the NOA2, but not even able to prepare anything for the next step. Should I be doing anything other than calling? Is there a guide for the next steps that I'm missing somewhere? (This is Canada specific, but I'm confused by the express mailer/registering for DHL business...)

There is the Special Poutine Tour in Montreal. Perhaps you can study the paths before making the plans for the trip - see which places are open for your interview day. For most - it's the last opportunity they have to imbibe.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Haha, my husband is actually from Montreal, and I've spent a lot of time there with him, so we've already got our favorite poutine places. But I'm guessing that the first place we'll stop after the interview is the first place we see that sells beer...at 10am.

Come to think of it...I think I actually know where that will be!

The photo on the poutine wikipedia page is disgusting (not the most beautiful dish to begin with...), so I'm going to link you to this far more reputable poutine source instead: http://www.restolabanquise.com/

(And sorry to everyone for getting off topic!)
