Thanks, I'm happy to know we're on track. It could be fast now (provided I get the PC I'm waiting for from Turkey)!

Once your husband confirms the email addresses and such, don't forget to email the DS-3032. Follow the template that's linked on the first post of this thread.

It's going to go much quicker now. Get all documents ready if you haven't done so already.

Oh, I thought I had to wait for the DS3032 to be generated before I could e-mail it? I read that in Ling Che's shortcuts, is that not true anymore?

I'm waiting for the police clearance from Turkey, where I lived for 5 years. I applied for it a month ago... NVC information about the process to get this document from abroad is inaccurate (in the reciprocity by country page), and I hope I'll have it soon. Everything else is ready.

Well, you could always wait until NVC emails you the initial information package signalling they're ready for package/form intake. But, if you email them now, by the time they get to your email, they might be ready for it. So, look at it this way: either you send it now and if it gets rejected, well, you don't lose anything. But it can also get accepted and you'd save quite a few days off your process compared to if you had waited to email it.

I HAVE A CASE NUMBER!!! :dancing::jest:

Communication through my IP phone with the condescendant operator was not easy, so I'll have my husband call back to check the case number and mostly the e-mail addresses, cause I had to spell them like 5 times each and I'm still not convinced he got them right.

But hey, good news! We're moving on! Woohoo!

I was on skype with Colin minutes before I made the call too bad I couldn't tell him the good news then!

   CONGRATS!!!

Grats on getting your case number too!

If you can log into the payment portal and if the AOS fee is invoiced, then I'd definitely suggest paying it asap.

Even if the calls are tracked , it will definitely NOT stop me from calling afterall, there is no law against so why worry. We are humans being going through a very challenging process so it is normal that we are eager to know what is happening to our cases.

Laure&collin...c Congrats on ur case number.

ayomide congrats on your case number..

regardless of what the agent said, if you can access the payment portal then just go ahead and make your payment once u are ready. Why wait for few days if you can do it now?

Thanks everyone for the congrats!

We got our IIN, but my attempts to log into the portal failed (SIF). I guess we'll have to wait a little longer.

Case complete Dec 30th!! I guess the Automated Voice system hadn't been updated over New Years. Now the waiting game again for the interview date!

Anyone know if there is an Australian Interview date/consulate topic for people waiting for interviews?

An operator should be able to give you some information by end of business day today or latest tuesday.

Just spoke to the rudest operator at the NVC. Love being treated like an idiot who obviously hasn't been monitoring the progress of my case for the past six months as carefully as the guy who just typed the number into his computer 2 seconds ago.

Looks like a full month wasted waiting on a case number after all.

It's not the wait so much at this point as being cut off midsentence and yelled at first thing in the morning by someone you've only been polite to.

It happened to me too. And to my husband. Actually the guy who gave me my case number raised his voice at me for not being able to write it down fast enough <_<

Well I had to stay on the line cause he had valuable information, and I wanted to give our email information, but if they can't do anything for you, don't bother getting into an argument, just say "thank you and goodbye" and hang up. Don't waste your energy.

I used to be a call center agent, I did this painful job during 3 long years... I can tell you that NVC operators in general should go back to customer interaction training. That's what I tell them if they're crossing the line.

I'm considering having my husband send a nice letter to the Department of State once everything is over to complain about the rudeness of NVC operators that we both had to deal with. I mean, even USCIS operators were friendlier!!
