It was on the "specific location information" document for Paris embassy on the DOS website, and it said Immigrant Visa Applicants on top...

Oh I hate it when official sources give conflicting information!!!!

I followed Allegra+Hadrien process last month and she was going the regular NVC path. I guess they just give wrong info on their website, which seriously sucks! How are people who don't use VJ supposed to know what to do!?

Do you still have the link? I'd like to check it out :)

Have you talked to another operator asking for another second or third or fourth data about your case? Thats what happened to my son's case. My husband decided to send them a scanned copy of the NOA2. After 2 days, we got email from NVC that the file is in the building & still has to wait 4-6 weeks for further processing. We'll its a lot better than hearing them say that we do not have a record of your case. :)

HUM ok. I am going to send the fax the same paper we used it to request expedite from USCIS to NVC when we in this stage and additional supporting documents as my wife health is still fragile. I want to get ready for this step to have it worked very fast. Last october my wife was in Haiti with me, i filled a DS 230 or 3032 i don t remember which one, there was one with part 1 to sign and part 2 to leave unsigned. The choice of agent paper, i did not do anything with it, because i remeber they say it is better to choose the petitionner as the agent. i wanna get everything ready on my side

pls tell the significance of SIF

Once both packets (AOS and IV) are submitted, being unable to sign into the payment portal (sign-in fail {SIF}) was a precursor to a case complete. Lately, people are still able to sign into the payment portal even after receiving a case complete. I never put any stock in a SIF as it only means that you are not able to sign into the payment portal.

SIF means nothing, Case Complete means everything.

haizzz the NVC human operator said that my file wasn't w/ them yet... but their reply from the email 2 weeks ago says that they just recently received my petition... I'm totally confused... Where's my case number? It's almost a month since my noa2 :(

Please keep in mind that during the last half of the year, NVC has been taking 3+ weeks to get a case number assigned. And like I said, I believe yesterday, your case number will probably be assigned this week or next. Stay positive and imagine getting your case number assigned. And it will be.

It's here, and then you choose Paris in the list.

I got there following a link on my IV bill payment receipt.

You didn't link anything :P

Saylin,

Grats on the CC! kicking.gif You might still get an email, but it might be delayed a bit.

And Ryan answered about the SIF. It used to be a good indication of an upcoming CC. But lately, some people haven't gotten a SIF. Nothing to worry about though! As long as you got confirmation from an operator that your case is complete, then you're good to go!
