Yeah the interview letter they sent said 'case has been completed and forwarded to the consulate', but the AVR still only says case complete and doesn't give a date for forwarding. I guess I'll just wait a couple of days and see if it changes.

It's funny, after writing this I went and checked the AVR again and it was change in the last 5 hours to say that they forwarded it on the 11th of Jan. Can't seem to track it on the DHL website yet though...

Wait until later today or tomorrow to try. It takes awhile to show up.

EXP 12 JAN 2012A

He would actually use EXP 10 JAN 2012A. You're supposed use the day before it was forwarded. Because that's when NVC got the reference number from DHL for the next day's shipping.

I just checked the payment portal and the IV fee is still in process.

However I clicked on the Instructions button of the receipt page, and it took me to the DOS website where I found very confusing information...

It described a different process where DS230 and civil documents where sent to the embassy and not NVC, then it was talking about a DS2001 form to send when you have gathered all documents... What the heck is that?? Is it outdated information??

Told you POE is easy :P

And you're very welcome! If you have any questions about the green card or SSN, I'll be here! laughing.gif

Oh, and I was looking at your timeline. You got your visa the day after your interview?! Did you pick it up at the consulate or was it actually mailed to a DHL location? If the latter, you are extremely lucky, wow!

Thanks dearest Saylin! My visa was mailed to DHL(Loomis Express)location, Markham ON. Yup...even I was surprised

Grats on getting your case number too!

If you can log into the payment portal and if the AOS fee is invoiced, then I'd definitely suggest paying it asap.

Saylin, I need help. Umit said they told him at his interview case was sent back to NVC. Have you heard of this? What is your advice that I do now?

Thanks, Terry

what happened? It was send back to NVC? Why he was not approved ? are they are trying to revoke your petition? Can you give more details about interview?

I do not know. 2 other married people were denied, but Umit was told after his interview to come back 1 1/2 hours later. When he did, they said they were sending his case back to NVC and he would have to come back for another interview if it came back to Turkey. I am devastated.

That sounds like the process for the K1 visa. They skip NVC and send documents to their embassy/consulate instead. Don't worry about it as you're doing an IR-1/CR-1 visa.

Thanks dearest Saylin! My visa was mailed to DHL(Loomis Express)location, Markham ON. Yup...even I was surprised

They must have mailed your visa the very same day!

That's not good. You're going to have to contact both the embassy and NVC. They must have either seen a red flag, or they want you to re-submit documents or something. You need to find out from the embassy why they sent the petition back to NVC. This will be important so you know what to do. You're also going to need to be calling NVC every day to find out when your case has been received by them.

You can call, and you can start next week to make sure your paperwork is received. But you might have to wait for several weeks before they can give you your case number.

Since you have an attorney, they will not send you the DS3032 form to complete.

Oh, it will probably be another 3 weeks until you get your case number. Despite this, I'd be calling every single day starting immediately until a case number is assigned. You should be able to get it from the operator despite having an attorney. But I'm not sure. The operator should at least say a number was assigned, but might not give it to you. But as you're either the petitioner or beneficiary, technically, they should give it to you, attorney or not. But, I don't run NVC, so.. laughing.gif

It was on the "specific location information" document for Paris embassy on the DOS website, and it said Immigrant Visa Applicants on top...

Oh I hate it when official sources give conflicting information!!!!

I followed Allegra+Hadrien process last month and she was going the regular NVC path. I guess they just give wrong info on their website, which seriously sucks! How are people who don't use VJ supposed to know what to do!?
