We met on mySpace in 2009. I was bored, was sending comments and randomly adding "friends" when I added her.

Something about her was intriguing. Her face was very expressive, her clothing was conservative and professional, and yet she was very sexy.

I got this really weird feeling like "I just met my wife". But wait, no way. This is mySpace and there are a lot of bored people out there posting and making friends like me. Still, I kept going back to her profile everyday, sending comments and hoping to chat with her. On day she saw me online and suggest that we meet on yahoo to chat. We did, but Within a few days she was telling me to "get lost" but I hung in there.

Soon we were chatting everyday. It took 2 years and 4 trips to the philippines but I finally have my honey home - sitting next to me as I type this.

Is this ok honey? :bonk:

Just kidding.

Thats Cool Art!!

I began using a language learning website, Shared Talkto improve my Spanish. Because of the typical perverted creepos, so I made a profile stating that I was 82, covered in warts, and that I owned 42 cats and had many grandchildren.

Carlos read my profile and was curious about an elderly lady learning Spanish. He felt inspired because if I could do it past 80, then he certainly could do it in his 30's. We began chatting. After a short while, I let him know that I was really not a granny and we enjoyed out conversations via Skype. I made a plan to try some intensive study by traveling to a foreign country and immersing myself completely. He invited me to Lima with this: "There are 8 people in my home. One more won't even be noticed." I made plans to visit a friend in Ecuador, for a week and then on to Perú for 4 weeks more.

When I saw him, WOW! In the airport, everyone else disappeared like some schmarmy movie.

Eight days later, we were sitting together at his computer when he began humming the wedding song. He hums all the time and I am not sure he is even aware of it. Naturally, at the idea of marrying, I completely freaked out pretended that I didn't hear it. I thought about it all day and that evening, I was sure that, yes, he was exactly what I wanted and I asked him to come home to the US with me.

We are still waiting for happily ever after. How come Prince Charming never needed a visa to visit his fair maiden or beautiful princess? How come she never had to loiter around for months on end while waiting for bureaucrats to get to her?

My first week at a new job in 2008, I got assigned to work on a program bringing African researchers to the U.S. to study. One of the first participants arrived in 2009 and became a close friend. I was curious to get to know her side of the world as she had mine, so I decided to visit her and her family in her country over the Christmas holidays in 2010.

My first night there, she was out of town and so I spent the evening getting acquainted with her extended family, and in particular one of her brothers (cousin, actually, but they grew up together). Over the next two weeks we just never stopped talking to each other, and after I realized that I was missing him when we were not together, I decided to talk to him about it (since he was not in a position to say anything to me, given that I was there as his sister's guest). Luckily he felt the same way, and 14 months later we are now engaged and starting the K-1 process.

I met my Rina in a bar in Okpo South Korea where we were both working. She was the bartender and if you have ever been in one of the bars full of of arm candy you will understand the rest. Anotgher lady approached and chatted a few and asked if I would buy her a drink and I shook my head no, pointed to Rina and said I won't buy you one but I would gladly buy her one. Rina refused saying any of the other ladies would be glad to sit and chat.

I finished my beer alone and came back the next night. A different lady approaoched chatted and asked the same question and i di the same thing and agin Rina refused. The third night however she stated i will not give up and i said no I never give up. She sat we chatted and spent most of the next year chatting side by side every night I was in town. When she return to the Philippines and I to the US I knew I had to make the fisnish what I started and made 13 trips in the next two years to PI and now she has been here since August 2011 and we just started the AOS process.

How did you meet your special someone? Is the most common way via the net?

We met on OKCupid.com. We were both getting ready to deactive our accounts and I widened my search to "Anywhere" and she was the best match in the world for me. I was a little disappointed because she was on the other side of the world, but I sent her a message and said "Hello from the other side of the world!". Things kind of took off from there. I was really impressed by her moral values and things I just wasn't finding from most women my age here in the U.S. I didn't know anything about the Philippines or Filipino's but I have a totally different view of life now. Truely a life changing experience.

we met in a pub in Scotland for xmas day back in 2010 while he was here on holiday. He was the one noticing me and introduced, then went out in group (we were both with a few friends) the following nights. He had to go back after a wk and he promised we would see each other again. I was like: yeah, they all say that! I didn't even think he would really contact me the day he got back and been skypeing, calling each other at insane time of the day for hrs sometimes. After a month I was totally exhausted from lack of sleep, so we decided to cut back on hrs spent on the phone/skype and actually decide on a date to meet. He bought me a ticket (Im a full time student) to go to Alaska for the summer so we could have a chance to get to know each other a bit more in person. Well the rest is history... :D
