is there anyone on the same page as me, the case was closed at NVC for my wife's CR1 case, thus far we have not recieved a visa call letter, it has been 8 weeks already.

in the mean time the chennai embassey stopped processing immigrant visa petitions and transferred files to Mumbai, hence we got new case number also.

can anyone shed some light on this info, days go by and i miss my wife terrbily it has been months!!

thank you

joe

When you say the case was closed at NVC, do you mean Completed? Did you call NVC and inquire about the interview date? 8 weeks is a very long time not to have heard something.

i have send numerous emails to NVC/ MUMBAI also..when i call NVC this is what they say" your case was completed on October 31st 2011, please wait 8 weeks for further instructions, if it has been weeks press 0 to speak to an agent" when i speak to an agent they tell me unfortunately we were not able to schedule for this month as visa limitation from mumbai.....( i find that odd because on mumbai website it says cr1 and k1 visa do not have numerical limits), i checked on mumbai website i dont have interview date for january 2012 either, officially it has been 8 weeks and 6 days since NVC completed the case, i dont know what the heck is happening.

I think it's time for you to speak to a supervisor. The regular reps won't go out of their way to help. They just give you the "speech" about wait times. I recently dealt with something at NVC that was handled improperly and insisted the call be elevated to a supervisor. Do this Tuesday, when they open....don't wait any longer. And be forceful on the phone. Do not accept them telling you to wait longer.

I have not seen anything similar but, just so you know, i also have a rare case, and after NVC screwed everything up, I demanded an expedite-and got it. It's worth a try .... I spoke to one of the big supervisors, Sue. Same person that leaves the automated messages on the NVC line.

I CALLED UP, I TALKED TO SUE THE SUPERVISOR. THIS IS WHAT SHE INFORMED. SHE TOLD ME TO SENT A LETTER VIA THE NVC ENQUIRY EMAIL AND SHE WILL FORWARD IT TO THE CONSULATE. SHE SAID IT IS TOTALLY UPTO THE CONSULATE TO HONOR THAT.

Perhaps things are different for different countries. In my case, after NVC complete, it took 10 days before we recieved the interview letter. Perhaps other members with India cases will offer more information.

Regards,

Magnus

IF SOMEONE CAN HELP ME. MY WIFE HAS INTERVIEW FEBRUARY 15TH, I FILED THE CASE FROM USA, SHE IS IN INDIA. WE GOT THE INTERVIEW LETTER TO APPEAR. ALSO RECIEVED THE PDF FILE NVC SENT NAMED " PF FOR NEOPOST DS1200.PDF" IT HAS THE LETTER ON THIS PDF PLUS THE LAST PAGE GIVES THE LIST OF DOCUMENTS THAT NVC HAS WITH DIFFERENT SYMOBLS TO INDICATE WHICH DOCUMENTS OR FEES YOU HAVENT PAID ETC. ALL MY FORMS AND FEES ARE GOOD. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG ...MY PROBLEM IS...THE NEXT STEP....DO MY WIFE JUST APPEAR AT MUMBAI ON FEBRUARY 15TH OR WHAT? WHEN I LOOK AT THE INTERVIEW PREP IM SEEING THINGS LIKE PACKET 3 AND 4, WHAT ARE ALL THESE PACKETS OR ARE THESE PACKETS ONLY FOR PEOPLE WHO FILE FROM INDIA?, ALSO ACCORDING TO DEPARTMENT OF STATE THE STEPS ARE

1. Carefully Review the information sent by the NVC noting the date, time, and location of your immigrant visa interview.

2. Prepare for the Medical Examination.

3. Ensure that all required Original Documents will be available at the time of the interview. Any documents that you submitted to the NVC will be transferred to the interviewing officer.

4. Obtain the required Photographs.

5. Review the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General-specific Interview Guidelines.

6. Review the Important Visa Interview Notices.

7. Review the Immigrant Visa Interview Frequently Asked Questions.

NUMBER 5 IS CONFUSING ME. IF YOU CAN EXPLAIN. PLEASE.
