Re entry permit was never delivered

Hi All

I had applied for re entry permit in nov last week. I was approved of the permit and had done my bio metrics done as a walkin at the asc center.

I was emailed by nebraska that my LIN** was issued on 19th dec 2011 and was delivered to my US address on 24th dec by USPS tracking number etc etc.

However i never recieved it till date. I have raised a query with USPS and they have given me a case number and will come back to me in 2-3 days time.

Did anyone ever come across such a case..I am currently out of US and am planning to get in touch with US embassy in London.

I cant afford to pay another $445 because of USCIS admin errors.

Although the USPS mentions that it delivered the doc..i never recieved it. I checked with all my neighbours as well..no body has got any such doc by mistake.

USCIS is full of loosers doing their job without thinking that there are people who are suffering because of their stupid mistakes ..

If USPS says it was delivered and it wasn't, it's probably USPS's fault. It obviously left USCIS offices and obviously had a tracking number so I'm not sure why you would assume USCIS screwed up when USPS is the one that is claiming to have delivered something they did not.

I have had that issue with USPS before. You should go to your local post office so someone can check with your mail carrier. Don't hold your breath, though. USPS claimed to deliver medication of mine a few months ago. Never got it. They "looked into it" but never found it and told me tough cookies, it wasn't insured. The sender took no responsibility as they had evidence it was mailed - as does USCIS.

If you are outside the USA without an entry permit, how do you expect to return to the USA? Why do you need a re-entry permit? Depending on the type of visa and where you are in the process, you may have cost yourself more than $445 and a lot more time. More information is needed. As others mention on this borad, you never travel unless the required documents are already in your hands.

I am a US Green card holder. Total time spent outside US to-date is 7-8 months. I have so far entered first time after GC before 6 month.,.I was told by CBP officer that i will need a rep if i intend to spend time outside US.

Applied for REP in Nov last week. Got notification email from uscis email that rep was approved and issued on 19th dec. The email also mentioned USPS tracking number according to which the rep was deliverd on 24th dec. However i never recieved it. I have raised a case with USPS and they are looking into it.

I will also call uscis office in London US embassy and seek their help..Guys please pray that i get my doc back..It costed $445 to apply..and if i am required to pay it again..it will be a rip off.

As far as i know i am allowed to enter on GC if my total stay outside the US is less than 11 months.

Pls pray guys..

Guys Today on the advise of US embassy in London I had called the USCIS toll free number 1-800...and spoke to customer rep. According to the customer rep the case shows as pending. When i told him i got an email from nebraska service center that its approved on 19th dec and doc sent on 24th dec..he said per the system its showing pending. God knows who to trust..getting different answers from same Department.

I have emailed the embassy and I think there is a fc** up with their communication systems within uscis..nobody knows what to do.

No wonder these jobs should get outsourced

I hope you had a better attitude when you spoke to USCIS and the embassy. With your constant tirades about the workers being "losers" and how the jobs should get outsourced, I wouldn't be in a hurry to help you either, particularly when you are continuously calling USCIS about a problem that is almost positively the fault of USPS.

when you call back into USCIS (and yer gonna do that, on Thursday)

ask to speak to an ISO, a Tier 2 Human

CSRs, Tier 1, that sub-human that answered the phone,

can't see anything in the computer past what you can see online

ISOs, on the other hand, can see much more.

So, if you have some postal problem with USCIS -

here's what you do:

1. call into USCIS , get an ISO

2. go over the address where you receive postal mail in the USA - ask them to confirm that WHAT YOU GAVE THEM VERBALLY is the address that's printed on the mail piece. ASK THEM TO UPDATE IT if what's on the mail piece is wrong. ASK THEM TO REMAIL all mail pieces that have come back as undeliverable.

3. glue a name card inside your post box with your name clearly printed. Have TWO LINES:

LASTNAME, FIRSTNAME

FIRSTNAME LASTNAME

Friends really sorry for my harsh tone in my messages earlier..very immature behavior ..apologies if i hurt anyone ..it was not intentional ..

I just received my re entry permit today. With gods grace it was approved in 3 weeks. I applied on 23nov and 2Dec biometrics done and it was approved on 19th Dec.Uscis told me delivery date was 22dec..to usps.

The usps mentioned permit delivered on 24th Dec..it was closed for Christmas. they told me they got the envelopes from uscis today ..then who's updated their systems with 24th Dec delivery date ..

Forget it..at the end of it i finally got my permit today..thanks to all of you for your kind support

Please always use reputed courier for your important documents..and get proper sleep.

Glad to hear you got it! In my experience USPS is very hit and miss. The good thing is the majority of the time the mail makes it to you eventually. Safe travels!
