Uhhh... I've just been put in a tailspin... would anyone ever expect a 13 day processing time between NOA1 and NOA2?

We only just took receipt of the I-797C (NOA1) and logged onto the USCIS "My Case Status" page to see the petition is in an approved "Post Decision Activity" state and NOA2 was sent (13 days later).

I'm not complaining about this mind you, but was DEFINITELY not expecting such a quick turnaround - would anyone else ever expect this or am I missing something here (maybe I need pinching)?

It changes our whole intended approach to obtaining my visa (from my understanding, it'd be pointless now to file an I-129F right?).

Very interested to know peoples thoughts on this.

Cheers,

Windza

My wild guess: the US citizen resides in Australia with you?

Same thing happened to all members in the same situation as mine, from what I could see, in the last few months. I got my NOA2 in 16 days.

What's next is, first, a long wait for NVC to give you a case number. Longer than the time you spent at USCIS. Then, if you have all the necessary documents, things can go pretty fast.

CR1 Visa

USCIS STAGE: 16 days No expedite request but USC residing abroad
NVC STAGE: 19 days from case # to case complete
03/27/12: interview at Paris embassy - APPROVED
04/12/12: POE San Diego

ROC
01/15/14: sent I-751 application

05/14/14: received card production notification by e-mail, approval date 05/13

Naturalization

02/01/24: N-400 submitted online; Biometrics reuse notice received immediately online; "case being actively reviewed" after a couple hours

02/09/24: received NOA1 by mail

02/10/24: received biometrics reuse notice by mail

04/08/24: interview scheduled for 05/14. Received "We have taken an action in your case" email.

05/14/24: approved at interview, same-day oath ceremony in San Francisco 🥳 🇺🇸

Passport

06/10/24: application submitted at post office for passport book and card, paid for expedited processing and shipping

06/24/24: received email notification that passport was approved, then shipped with tracking number

06/25/24: passport received

Seems the process is just as fast as it has been. I'm new to this site and new to the whole process (thankfully lots of great information here)

We filed our I-130 on 5 Nov 2013.

On 29 Nov 2013 we are now at NOA2 just waiting now for our file/case number.

We did DCF in London as we live in the UK. One of us is dual national USC/UKC the other a UKC.

We initially took advice from a great immigration lawyer (we decided to file on our own and so far its been great with help from this site) he advised that it could take anything from 10 months to a year but so far its progressing fast. Our case is straightforward, married, live in UK but both moving to US.No convictions or complications with immigration.

Any idea how long the current wait is for us to get the file LDN number so we can schedule the medical and apply for our interview?

Thanks for your help.

Alas, DCF isn't the path used by the OP, back at post #1, so is useless to compare process with post #1, you not use the same process as the OP.

Sorry.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
