What it seems to prove is that (due to technology) one can still guide after being dead--only flaw in that, it could be done with "more primitive technology" of writing materials and tools.

But people have technically died and come back. And some have visually seen their lifeless bodies as well as the people around them. Even our military has experimented with out of body experiences (astral projection). I'm not trying to convince you or anyone else to believe in God, but there is something beyond our physical existence - however you want to define it or even just acknowledge that we just don't know.

That's it. We don't know. I'll put the odds of nothing after death at about 959 trillion * 1 trillion * 5 trillion * 70 trillion (whatever that number is to 1) that nothing happens.

India, gun buyback and steamroll.

I personally have nothing to gain by staying dead when my life is over.. But a few things to consider:

1) The military also experimented with fighter pilots in centrifuges.. Many hundreds of them. They whirled them around until the O2 was low in their brains and they finally blacked out. Here is a list of what these men frequently reported they experienced:

- A feeling of euphoria

- Bright lights

- Vivid dreams of beautiful places

- Floating in a tunnel

- Out of body experiences

- Meeting with friends and family

- Rapid memory of past events

Sound kind of familiar?

2) There has *never* been a reported case of an NDE when the brain had aduequit amounts of O2 and a person was "brought back"...

3) A Doctor at a hospital in England that is a believer in life after death ran an experiment by placing cards on tops of cabinets in a room where high-risk surgeries are performed. In the time cards have been there 15 people have reported NDEs where they floated above the room and witnessed people in the room working on them. Not one of them has known about the cards/items placed on the cabinets.

4) Ketamine has been used to simulate NDE in the brain of healthy people..

5) What does not get reported in the media is that most of the out-of-body experiences that report details get them very wrong we only here about the other small percentage.

So.. a NDE may point to an afterlife or not.. but for sure it is possible to have an NDE and it mean nothing.

I shamelessly stole these facts from one source .. I'll just provide the link to the source which has all the proper references to the above:

First off tragic story. I feel for the parents and the loved ones this kid left behind. As a parent though, I can't imagine a much crueler fate that having a child die at such a young age. I'd be much more inclined to being bitter if I thought there was any "intelligence" behind lifes often cruel design.

I pick a number between 1 and 1,888,555,444,333,222,999,888,777,666,555,444,333,222,111,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,999,888,777,666,555,444,444,333,333,222,222,111,111,999,888,777,666,555,444,333,222,555,777,888 (times 10).

The probability of 1 of the thousands of man-made religions being true is the probability of you guessing the number that I pick.

It doesn't prove anything. All I stated was that it is this teenager's personal testimony. You can take from it what you will. I find it very moving.

It is a lot of over acting: I mean really! Picking up pre-written cards and making faces to go with it, sheesh!

Why not just say what ya gotta say, and TELL IT LIKE IT IS.

I know, that is a lot to ask of you.

In the Phils, he is called OA (over acting.)

But it appears you just dont get it.

Peace.

somebody else did the card thing fairly recently on something that went viral, He could have been copying that or it might even be some kind of trend for teenagers. It certainly made the video longer and more challanging for my limited attention span. I would guess if he had not just died, this video would be right up there with the one of me singing and playing guitar (which I can't really do)

Hey,all you need is a little baby biting on your finger while you are trying to play, and your video will get 400 million hits....

Actually he was getting 50,000 hits per video before he died and his latest video went viral.

Totally disagree with you. Have a heart. He wanted to tell his story. Geez!

The Buddha said "The more loving the more suffering"

By birth is not one an outcast,

By birth is not one a noble, but

By action is one an outcast,

By action is one a noble.

Yours is a fair statement, Brother LI.

However, the way I think about it(and others have thought this way as well) is that 'God' is the 'Idea' and 'Religion' is how mankinds expresses the 'Idea' through our very finite senses/thoughts/languages/actions/traditions/etc...

In short, the 'Idea' is too big too for mankind to effectively express, and as humans we realize that inadequacy. But, its impossible (for me at least) to critisize humanity for attempting to express that which is impressed on their hearts in the best, and possibly only, manner by which they're capable - which is often through 'Religion'.

Blessings to you Brother LI!

You don't? I do. We get buried. No mystery there at all.

Awwww mannnnn...that is the 'fundamentals' of death. Where is the imagination (and fun) in that?

The Bishop gives your reply two thumbs down for an unimaginative response :sleepy:
