This teenager died just a few days ago, but had cheated death many times before. He made this video right before his death. His personal testimony of a life hereafter. (F)

This teenager died just a few days ago, but had cheated death many times before.

How does this prove that there is life after death? He cheated death a few times. He died at 18.

This is a tragedy! What is good about this and what does it prove?

It doesn't prove anything. All I stated was that it is this teenager's personal testimony. You can take from it what you will. I find it very moving.

What is good and what it proves is that he wanted his family to get a sense of peace. Sometimes, people will continue to live in great suffering because they love their families and feel that their families don't want them to die or don't want to let them go. He wanted to let his family know that it was ok if he died and that he believed he was going to a better place.

I didn't get any of that out of the video.

I got that he cheated death various times. 1....2......3.....As recent as this month.

I can't read his mind but I got that he thought he was shown favor by God and had no idea he'd be dead in a couple weeks. That he'd live a long life, at least decades past what ended up being his expiration.

It didn't come off as a "Mom/Dad - I'll be dead in 2 weeks, have some closure and peace" type of video.

It was an "I have a history of cheating death. Look, I just did it 3 weeks ago" video. Not that there is anything wrong with that. He was a very happy person, full of smiles and cheer. It's sad that he unexpectedly went like that. So soon after his video.

He experienced being 'alive' after clinically being dead. Now maybe there is some medical explanation for his experience, but that experience was calming and reaffirming to him. Maybe it's just a mechanism of brain to keep from going in mental shock - I don't know, but I think there is compelling evidence of life after death. Going beyond that, it's all speculation. At the very least, you have to admit that you don't know for sure what happens after we die.

This reassures his family and himself that he was ready or ok with dying and he believes in God. How many 18 years old believe and can accept death in a way he can.

Remember this little stat: 2 people die each second. That's over 150,000 per day. About 100-120 people dead per minute. According to UNICEF, 21 of those dying each minute are children under 5, and they "die from preventable causes."

Nobody can know where these mass quantities of dead people go when they die but the best guess I have is nowhere. They just cease to exist. It's the most logical explanation BY FAR!

This reassures his family and himself that he was ready or ok with dying and he believes in God. How many 18 years old believe and can accept death in a way he can.

Nowhere in the video does he indicate he was ready to die - or that he was reassuring his family that he was prepared and ok with it. It was a tragic event that was completely unexpected. Coincidentally within a matter of weeks of him making an "Oh look at me - I cheated death multiple times" video. The motivation of the video was clearly and obviously that he just recently cheated death. It wasn't to reassure his family of anything.

He appeared extremely healthy when he made the video this month. He wasn't in a hospital or on his death bed.

He said that he didn't want to come back when he was in that bright room. I don't think it was unexpected that he was going to die. I read that he was in for some more surgeries and he didn't want to go through with anymore of that. First he was afraid to die, but after the experience in the room, he wasn't afraid anymore. Sometimes people who are close to dying have some intuition or whatever that they will die soon. It might not be in their conscious mind, however. You might not know this from the video, but he doesn't have to tell you everything about his life - it was for his family. He isn't trying to prove anything to YOU.

My mom was really sick with a kidney disease and she took a flight to England in order to see my nephew who was just born. At the airport upon leaving the U.S., she said good-bye to two of my nephews that she spent a great deal of time with. But it wasn't an ordinary good-bye. My brother said that it was something different - very serious and she said "I am really going to miss you guys" and stared at them for a long time, which, if you knew her, you would find strange. Well, my mom died 6 days later in England. I am sure she didn't consciously think - I am going to die on this trip - but somehow she anticipated she wouldn't live. I think he was the same - his condition was very, very serious and he knew the likelihood of him dying, so it wasn't unexpected.

"I have a heart condition"

"It's a serious condition but..."

"NOT A BIG PROBLEM" <----repeated at least 3X

"I might have to have surgery once in a while...Rarely..But I'm not limited, I can basically do whatever I want..."

"I love to wakeboard"

"What job do you want to do when you are older....I'm not sure, I'm only 17.....I don't know what I'll be doing my whole life"

"Maybe something with film"

------------------------------------------

THIS VIDEO WAS UPLOADED BY HIM THIS SUMMER, IN JULY....He appears to be in FANTASTIC health just as he was a couple weeks ago....He died completely unexpectedly and tragically. So please quit lying to yourself and saying it was an "I am about to die in a couple days, I am ready.....Goodbye parents....Remember me" video....IT WAS NOTHING OF THAT NATURE AT ALL....He thought he would live for many decades to come...

How Ben lived with his heart condition

Teen who died Christmas Day, happy with full life

Updated: Saturday, 31 Dec 2011, 12:30 PM CST

Published : Wednesday, 28 Dec 2011, 6:03 PM CST

Erin Cargile

AUSTIN (KXAN) - As of Wednesday afternoon, the final YouTube video Ben Breedlove posted before he died on Christmas Day has reached nearly 1 million views.

When KXAN spoke to his family Tuesday, they shared what everyday life was like for the Austin teenager who was born with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy , or HCM.

"Most people could not tell he had the heart muscle disease that makes it difficult to pump blood. Even when it showed, he wasn't fazed.

"He was crossing the street at school one time and he just dropped in the middle of the street from his heart condition," said his father, Shawn Breedlove. "His friends helped him up and he just kept going. They laughed about it. He didn't take it overly serious. He went with it."

Ben parents said doctors did not expect Ben to live past his early teens.

The 18-year-old had a pacemaker put in two years ago, which gave him more energy, helped regulate his heart and stretch his limits.

He was able to spend more time on the lake, learn how to do a flip on the wakeboard and travel to Alaska with his grandparents. That is when he also started making YouTube videos .

But there were signs his heart condition was getting worse."

Sorry, here's the link.

Just because he didn't say that he was suffering tremendously and it was possible he might die, doesn't mean it wasn't going to happen.

People often don't want to express how much they are suffering to other people, because they don't want to bring them down.

I remember when I was young, like you, and felt indomitable. Perhaps you might read the book, On Death and Dying. Things aren't always as they appear.

With out a single word I think he made it clear to himself and his loved ones after his last bout with death that he didn't want to come back and wasn't scared anymore. To me being a parent and if my son made a video like this, it would comfort me knowing he believed the white light or tunnel leading to heaven was good place and he wanted to go there.

But people have technically died and come back. And some have visually seen their lifeless bodies as well as the people around them. Even our military has experimented with out of body experiences (astral projection). I'm not trying to convince you or anyone else to believe in God, but there is something beyond our physical existence - however you want to define it or even just acknowledge that we just don't know.
