Where the hell have you been? Happy new year!!

Oh, not usually up so late these days. Just trying to waste some time until midnight.

I can only handle just so much news, and just so much porn, but I can have FNC on in the background all day long.

Ah, who am I to judge? I've been making television choices with a similar line of thinking in my old age...

TV infotainment makes me ill. Hot girls? Pfft. Someone hasn't found internet porn.

There's so little information, and of course it serves the interest of the money powers. When I pass by it at a hotel or at someone else's house, about all I can think is "do they really think we're this stupid?"

in the first place you miss represented what Was said by Juan.

As I recall he didn't say "I'm scared if there are Muslims on my plane" .... he said he gets nervous when a groups of muslims wearing traditional muslim garb get on a plane.

That, is a fairly common reaction.

Either way, it's not something NPR wants on their program. Personal biases/prejudices albeit "normal" are unacceptable on the news IMHO.

Last I checked Juan was not even working in the news dept. so the first thing we must do is separate -news from commentary.

If your concern is against bias or prejudice I would suggest you avoid any news or commentary at all.... from any source, you simply can;t avoid it and have meaningful reporting or discussion.

I'm a little late to the discussion, but I thought this study might be pertinent: http://articles.nydailynews.com/2011-11-22/news/30431182_1_fox-news-results-show-viewers

A key quote: "A poll released by Fairleigh Dickinson University on Monday found that people who get their news from Fox News know significantly less about news both in the U.S. and the world than people who watch no news at all."

I know that it can't be avoided. If you go up a couple of posts, I stated that every news source has biased information; it's just a decision of HOW MUCH you're willing to deal with. I'm not willing to watch Fox. I like to draw my own conclusions based on facts, not inflammatory comments and assumptions.

Then again, most of America has grown too lazy to think for themselves. IMO, that's why we have this two party divide. We aren't all that different from each other in reality. We all want the same things, we just disagree on how to achieve them. We all receive the same information. WHERE and WHO you get your information from makes a huge difference in how you perceive reality.
