The odd thing my husband(usc) does, is put mayo on everything!!! It drives me nuts because Jamaican food isnt bland and doesnt nd mayo to help it along...went to dinner at my aunts last wkend and she cooked some delish, sliced fish with a sauce, first thing he asked for was mayo lol

Whenever im cooking fricaseed chicken or n e thing for that matter he always says use the "Lawry's baby" as if thts the only way to season food he is definately my perfect match though, Im so glad we found each other.

About the position of the knives and fork after the meal, I always get annoyed when wait staff ask, "are u.finished with that" um look at my utensils. Etiquette 101

Ohh you know what, a classmate of mine was once announcing some of the interesting facts and the measuring pants with neck was one of them, i was surprised. She said something like your waist is twice the size of your neck, so that way you can measure your size whenever you're confused about your jeans size in store. She also said that the lower half of your arm is the size of your feet, strange but true. Try it.

Yes that's normal. You're not supposed to put hot food in the fridge for some reason.

You are not supposed to put hot food in the refrigerator especially when it is in a container where it can have condensation from steam, as there will be condensation inside the container.

The reason for that is because hot food will raise the temperature of your fridge (it's a safe food handling thing) and even small changes in temp aren't safe and can breed bacteria... aside from gross condensation as well.

Always better to let food cool and then put it away.

He wants to open the windows to air out the house even when it's cold outside and the heat is on. I'm trying to convince him that my furnace and air cleaner will take care of that. My bank account will be bleeding next winter if we can't agree on this.

To be honest I see where he's coming from. I suggest turning off the heat and letting him open the windows for an hour. He'll get cold and close them.

In the winter after an hour the house will be so cold it could snow inside! Then the furnace will be working triple time just to warm the house up again. It's just something my family never did. We aired the house out in the spring. Which is kind of gross I guess. We will just cross that bridge when we get to it lol

Lol dude I live in Alberta where we get snow from Oct to April. Air out the house! Fresh air is good for ya and i promise you won't freeze ta death. Lol

LOL I'm a spoiled American even my hubby doesn't get cold as fast as me. Maybe we need to move to a warmer climate.

Odd.....................hmmm, is it at all odd that my soul mate

1. Smells any food she's about to eat even if she prepared it and knows it to be great

2. Shrieks whenever she is startled....ie. toads, worms, bugs, spiders, dropped utensils, frozen meat tumbling out of the freezer, kids stumbling, vomiting baby, etc...

2. does not like anyone to whistle in the house

3. does not want anyone to sing in the bed

4. has read through this thread and found a couple of additional oddities she rather liked and has adopted including pulling my hair three times when passing a cemetery and looking in the mirror when returning home to grab a forgotten necessity .

5. was repulsed when I had our son pull my finger to "help daddy out" just prior to a quite audible olfactory insult from the south end !

These are a few of the wonderful quirks that make this amazing woman so uniquely adorable. The good lord knew what he was doing when he crossed our paths !

I agree, I could not live in a house that is not aired at least every other day, of not daily. When I lived in northen Minnesota, I opened the window for at least 15 minutes a day.

So....I have a question.....doesn't airing the house out make your heating bill really high? I remember my daughter always opened the bathroom window in winter after taking a shower and her dad (my ex) always yelled at her to shut the window because of the heating bill. I grew up in southern California where opening a window didn't matter, but once I married and moved to the Midwest, keeping the heat inside the house became a big deal.

That's why I said to turn down the heat. There's no need to keep it above 68 anyhow and if it's an fortune to do that, you need to look at how drafty your house is. Sometimes I think it's more habit than anything else. I remember my mom saying it was too stuffy and opening windows, and I remember her yelling about not heating the whole world when I forgot a door open. Lol. I think the expression was meant more because a door was open vs actual heating costs. 10 or 15 mins a day shouldn't make an large difference in your heating costs plus you can look at ways to reduce those by draft proofing your house better as well.

I agree, all good points. I try to keep the thermostat lower than 68 during the day and then put it lower at night.
