The song is so catchy I watched it again. My hubby would know all the words. For some reason most or all Albanians know German.

I love it!

And I learned it in highschool 11 years ago =X

OMG I JUST REALIZED THIS WOULD BE MY 10 YEAR REUNION!

Next year is mine! Although, my boarding school was so small they do reunions every year for whoever wants to come. They tend to do a ski weekend or whatever since we all skiied or snowboarded like 4+ hours a day there.

 What is the difference? I'm sure it's just one of the million things I am uncertain of, despite my being fairly proficient in this here English what'chu-ma-call-it... language... But I really don't know what the difference is between those two thingamajigs you mentioned. :P

Time flies or something. This would be 14 years for me. Like you, KDH, I really don't know anyone anymore from high school. I only went to that high school for my senior year and that was it. No deep connection there, plus I went to probably 9-10 different schools growing up because we moved around a lot. My husband can negative relate. He went to school with the same people his entire primary and secondary school life. He still speaks to them sometimes on FB.

I think my favorite German song has to be "Das Schlimmste Ist Wenn Das Bier Alle Ist" by Die Kassierer.

I'm very insistent on the fact that the midwest has no accent.

If they did, then the majority of movies wouldn't be made in that accent and celebrities wouldn't take classes to speak with it.

I am from the midwest, but I have a weird accent compared to everyone I grew up around/with.

I just elongate certain vowels for no reason at all.

I'm aware of it, and I realize I have a weird accent.

I think I have an accent.

Ok maybe I should have said dialect or better yet variation. BBC English is a variation of English. General American English is a variation if English. At least that's how I see it. Even a standard is, in a way, a variation of a language.

Ugh. I need to stop making posts when I'm on my "smart" phone. Lol

I think I have an accent.

I always knew I had some accent. My paternal grandparents were from the East Coast. My grandmother in particular had a very, very strong NYC accent. My maternal grandparents spoke what could best be described as Hoosier Apex and said often things like 'davenport' (couch/sofa), 'ruff' (roof), 'crin' (crayon), 'warsh' (wash). My father had a declined NYC accent and my mother spoke central Midlands. We moved from extreme northern Illinois to deep southern Alabama when I was 7 or 8 and people (adults and kids) constantly pointed out my carpetbagging Upper Midwest accent. As a result of all of this American dialect incest and confusion growing up, I know no difference between soda, pop, soda-pop, and Coke. I never realized this was an issue until all hell broke loose in a 200 level linguistics course I was taking about it. :help::wacko:

I also say soda, pop, soda-pop and coke.

I have lived no where but a few cities outside Chicago.

At least while it was influential to my upbringing.
