I think I probably do more weird things than my husband.

This is all I can think of:

• Won't dry the dishes after he washes them. He just puts them all away so I come in the next morning with a paper towel and dry them all off otherwise a few more days and the stale water smells disgusting

• He'll leave leftovers out over night and eat them in the morning for breakfast. Grosses me out so much. I know he's probably built up an immune system for it though. I don't think I could do that. I'd get sick!

• If he doesn't particularly care for something, but doesn't dislike it, he says he's not fussy on it. But he'll say it like 10 times in the time he's telling me about how he doesn't care either way.

• The first time we met, he bought a burger from mcdonalds. He didn't eat it for hours, then when he did, he ate each layer separately. He only does this if he doesn't eat it right away.

Wow that's hard core cabin living. We live in an old cabin (from the 1800s) on the edge of wooded farmland. I moved here from an apartment in central London so it was a little bit of culture shock. I always complain to my husband about the 'outside' coming inside too much. It's a tough place to live and clean in winter. A friend from the UK was horrified to see me heavily pregnant and hauling logs in for the wood stove but that's the way to stay warm!

But we have not had to fight off any large wild animals yet. Thank goodness. I keep trying to lobby for a no shoes in the house policy as the floors do get very dirty but it's tough to enforce with country living. Sometimes it feels like my city life with all the comforts of 'civilisation' was a dream! And we live an hour from D.C. so not an Alaskan.wilderness. Sounds fabulous though - your wife must me a tough cookie.

For about a year, we lived in an old hunters cabin on my husband's dad's property.

It had no heat and no bathroom. I used to clean my husbands toe nails out all of the time (I know gross, whatever) because they were verging on BLACK! I didn't realize that was because it was so dirty out there until now when I see they never get that dirty anymore lmao.

We used to have to go out to his dad's garage to use the bathroom in the middle of the night with a little flashlight and during the winter, we used a space heater that kept the cabin a toasty 48 degrees Fahrenheit for most of the winter :P

Oh the things I sacrificed for him...

Another thing I find odd is my husband likes to put black pepper on his ketchup before he dunks his fries in it..

My husband puts pepper on everything.

But I think that's just his personal preference.

Can't tell you how many times I can hear him grinding it in the kitchen when he makes dinner and I run in there like STOP PUTTING SO MUCH PEPPER IN THERE I DONT LIKE PEPPER!

Am I the only one who doesn't undertand this part? Showed it to my native Texan husband and he asked if it was an article about a giraffe

We do the same thing in Kenya- I don't know where the tradition comes from, though.

People believe that the waist is two times the size of your neck or something...so instead of holding new pants across your waist to measure, some people use their necks, lol

My wife never uses ice, even if the drink is lukewarm

She loves MSG also

She hates noises made while eating (this has become annoying. even if it is the smallest noise, she cringes and reprimands me)

She prefers dinner around 10pm at night (as I am getting ready for bed to get up at 6:00am the next day)

She sautés rice with garlic before adding the water. It is delicious BTW

She loves to tweeze her eyebrows, once she gets them just the way she likes them, she comes after mine.helpsmilie.gif

She goes topless around the house all the time. I swear she hates a shirt. So distractingdevil.gif

She drinks from a straw, even from our glasses that we know are clean.

She has no short term memory what so ever. If we have a dinner engagement with some friends, we have discussed it several times. The night before, I remind her that when I get home we will go ahead and leave to get there on time. So please get ready before I get home. Then, when I get home, she is watching TV topless and doesn't remember anything we have discussed.

She has NO concept of time. (this is definitely a Brazilian thing)

Ha ha!!! I can relate!

- I hate noises when people eat; sometimes I just stare at my husband (the USC) who once in a while will make sounds... :pop:

- In Kenya people ALWAYS remove their shoes when visiting other people's homes. Keeps the house clean. My husband had to learn this :)

- Kenyans have NO concept of time whatsoever. We're called "African Timers". So if you want to meet someone at 1.30, ask them to be there at 1.

- I tweeze my own eyebrows...and I hate seeing hairs sticking out of my husband's face. So I pluck them (with his permission of course :)

- My husband puts pepper on EVERY SINGLE dish!!! I had to tell him I don't like it- so when he cooks he only sprinkles it on his own plate.

- I brush my teeth before breakfast- I don't know why my hubby finds that weird

- I'm always correcting my hubby's grammar- I don't know if people realize it but British English & American English are so different...and Americans speak "broken" English sometimes without even knowing it. So T will say "a apple"- I'm like WTH???! or "I'm wore out...instead of "WORN" out..I thought it was just him but apparently even his sisters & friends all do it. Yup. Guess I'll be the one tutoring our children in the English language, lol

- I find it weird when my hubby calls all animals "he" or "she...in Kenya creepy crawlies are just "it". Like I'll squash a spider with my shoe then he'll ask "why did you kill him? ha ha!!!!:rofl:

These are the weird things we love about each other & what binds couples...those little peculiar things which make us all unique :)

I will post some things I do different then my husband. I don't like ice in my drinks, I don't like fans and air conditioning( he is burning for real with me lol) I change my street clothes too, I don't use the dish washer, I rarely use my street shoes in the house, I never use a bath cloth( yuk), I allays lock the door, even if I go to take the trash out or check the post, I immediately shower after a haircut, I also wash my teeth before eating, I don't give big tipps, and me too I like using spray on not stick( degree at walmart, I don't use ranch or other souses in my salads and I eat them with the meat not before. I never eat frozen food from the supermarket and I buy the most expensive bread that resembles the European one. No sticky bread for me.

Ha ha!!!

Once my hubby left a tip and I almost screamed- what is all that money for???? I replaced it with a coin of a relatively SMALL amount  I'll never understand this tipping thing

While a typical worker makes around 8.50-10 dollars an hour... people in the service industry make less than 3...
