Wonder how she entered the US.

Whether she committed visa fraud or not, her actions are suspicious and therefore OP should call USCIS. Let them know the situation and if they ignore it then so be it.

It is unfortunate for things such as this makes it harder for those who have real intentions. I am sorry that you went through this, but you off cheap and alive!

A nice and sweet lady is waiting for you somewhere.

I wonder how many of the posters here would just lay down, relax and not care if someone defrauded them of several thousand dollars, as the OP is describing here of his rouge Colombian girl.

Let's be honest. EVERYONE would pick up the phone and contact the authorities if they were robbed of many thousands of dollars.....

YET, many peanut gallery folks here are telling the OP to just rack it up as life experience, and no crime committed against him....

I smell a rat, and will say again that OP should tell the USCIS briefly what happened, and include all the Columbian girl's identifying info, and therefore the USCIS will notify the next American Finacee of this girl's malevolent character at the Consulate interview.

How can fellow VJ'rs sympathize and support this Colombian scammer, and say it is ok and chalk things up as life experience.

It ain't right, and the OP needs to add his input to the scammer's immigration file, so she will have to answer to the Consulate for her misdeeds.

Peace.

I guess I'll make a call to USCIS, it can't hurt, then drop the matter and as someone suggested, chalk it up to experience. And stay away from Colombia! I'll also warn the guy in FL if he isn't in on it but I have a sneaky suspicion he is. And yes, she is in the US.

I told her I wanted $1000 back immediately as a partial repayment of the money I gave her - I paid for her friggin' trip to the US unknowingly! She seemed scared and said she'd come up with the $$, but then again, she's an oscar deserving actress. Mind you, it's not blackmail, I didn't threaten her with anything if she didn't pay.

I Can only offer you a couple things, First I understand your anger and it sucks this happened to you, that being said holding on to resentment is like taking poison and expecting the other person to die from it, The best revenge is living well. I say let it go, Kharma will have its way with her. Just my two cents.

He wasn't robbed, he had a relationship (the exact nature of which is unknown) with a woman. He sent her gifts, who knows what she gave in return. Then from there, it looks like the relationship ended and she found someone else to file the papers that he didn't. If I recall correctly the OP said she filled out all the forms for him to submit, but now is here as the fiancee of another man.

Move on man. While you are harrassing this woman you could be going on with your life. If all you say is true the universe will get her soon enough. Like the person said earlier now you are more educated and prayerfully a whole lot smarter.

I hate to say it but the reality of the whole ordeal is, this is the chance you take. There is no other way to put it. I brought someone here about 8 years ago, he changed as soon as he came home. Long story short we did marry but divorced after he threatend to slice me up which resulted in him running. He has and warrant out for his arrest which has been existing for 7 years and a order to deport. He is not surviving well because we were contact on facebook regarding him needing his paperwork in order to get his life back together. I contact INS detectives but the response was we cannot investigate every call they receive. Let her be, she will suffer no matter what.

I would report it definitely. We all know more than half of these marriages are scams anyways and they end up at courts filling for divorce. or just a free ticket to US.

Why go outside of US, i dont get it, much cheaper to find loved one here...

I guess this can be your experience since i doubt you will get anything back what you put in.

Good luck

I would like to thank the majority of people that offered useful advice, whether it be to let it go or whom to contact. Thanks a million.

As for a number of other responses, I never would have expected some of the mean-spirited replies. Many of the responses are not based on the statements I made, including the last one by newbie.

Again, thanks to many of you for your input. Adios.

I was taken for a ride by a Colombian woman for about 5 years

She is supposed to get married in January. Any thoughts? Thanks from a dummy.

Somebody else took the time to submit a petition for her. The OP didn't. After five years, I guess she got tired of waiting.

Many of the responses are not based on the statements I made, including the last one by newbie.

Jeez, I thought I was done here. Newbie, do you have an agenda? The second statement was not made by me. Not that your comment deserves a response, but to clarify, while I was pursuing completing the K1, the guy in Florida was doing the same. My pursuit of the K1 was actually put on hold for a year based on the woman's assertions that her ex-husband refused to let the children leave the country. If you search the board, you will see that I discussed this and asked what my options were. Do you think her choice was made on whomever completed the K1 first? I could go into the entire story, and it is a long story, but it is pointless and no one's business. Newbie, if this is the kind of stuff that makes your day, that is, looking to find contradictions or reading into something that's not there, I feel sorry for you.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Have you ever heard the expression "to put (or to tuck) the tail between the legs?"

I'd "tuck the tail between the legs", move on and get a life.

As for the OP being robbed, he wasn't robbed. Please, look up the definition of the word robbery.
