Capt Ewok has now updated the timeline section to properly reflect military and military spouses filing at the Nebraska Service Center.

Anyone who has filed or is in the midst of filing can fill in the timeline correctly for future people to track and see how long approximately it would take filing at that location.

People have to fill them in though for it to show up as nebraska service center on there. Since its so new it will be a little hard to track until more people fill in the information for it.

i only saw 1 person for DC ofice (unless i am looking wrong) and that was someone from back in 2009.

This seems to be a great idea. Just curious though because you can either apply through your local USCIS office or through Nebraska. Normally people applying from overseas would send in their Fingerprint cards and not have a biometrics appt at all. Yet one of the 2 listed on the military filing states they had a biometrics appt. I think some tweaking is still needed. I will add to that timeline once it will properly reflect my situation.

People stateside will still have biometrics appointments even if they are military and file through Nebraska.

The instructions say that spouses of current military members regardless of living state side or abroad are to file through NE, and yes you still have biometrics appointments if you file through NE and are in the USA.

You wouldn't have biometrics if you have your appointment within 12 months of your last biometrics appointment.

Hi! I'm a military wife and currently waiting for my ROC to be approved (filed in January 2012). My husband and I were looking at the N-400 eligibility requirements and one of them was:

• Have lived within the state, or USCIS district with jurisdiction over the applicant's place of residence, for at least 3 months prior to the date of filing the application.

The earliest date I can file is January 2013 and we were planning on sending my packet then but we will be moving to a new duty station (different state) in April 2013. I know we will need to file at the Nebraska Service Center no matter where we live but because we're moving to a different state, should we wait until July 2013 to file my N-400 instead (to fulfill the 3 month state residency requirement)? Or is it okay to move while you have a N-400 pending? We're just worried that it would create a lot more problems since we'll be moving to a new USCIS district.
