IR1 expiration

I've got a question. If the person issued with IR1 visa doesn't enter the USA withing 6 months, it will mean IR1 expiration. But what about if I want to start the IR1 process back again in the future - will it trigger any red flags or headaches on this process then?

The reason I've brought up this question - my wife doesn't want to lose her Canadian PR and she's in the process of obtaining Canadian citizenship (has submitted citizenship application and waiting for the response). She was about to activate her GC, but now it looks like I'll have to move to Canada.

This is really sad news, but this is the only option left for us right now. If I knew that before, I'd would have never started this IR1 process for now. But, it is - what it is.

Thank you.

You'd need to start everything again, but it shouldn't cause major issues. She will likely be asked about the previous, unused visa at interview, especially if you apply again soon (as opposed to in a few years).

Thank you, Penguin_ie,! It's unlikely that I'd be resubmitting the IR1 application this coming 2012 year.

Probably, in 2013.
