I recently turned in all the documents to NVC.

How does one follow up to ensure your case gets completed and the interview is set up?.

My case was originally set up in chennai and I heard IV cases are being transferred to Mumbai from Chennai.

Any experiences please share. Thanks in advance.

After we submitted all our documents we called and called and called until the operator said those magic words 'case complete'. I'd give it about 2 weeks before you start calling

Good luck

when did you turn in your documents?

It does not hurt to call them after couple of days( unless you are located where such phone call will cost you). My case was completed two days after arrival at NVC.

the number to call is 603-334-0700 and follow the prompts. if after ou enter your case number, the AVR ( automatic Voice response) does not give you an update, you select 5 to speak with an agent. they are operational from 7:30 eastern time to 12midnight.

Good luck.

What are the different ways to follow up?.

1.Call 603-334-0700

2.send email to nvcinquiry@state.gov

3.What do we tell the operator.. Well they dont want to talk until its 20 days...

.Also if we dont call and keep a check on our case..we will be lost in oblivion :(

in My experience email does the trick unlike call when they want to hang up on you after telling you to call back in so and so days.

so in the email make sure you put the case number in the subject line

at the beginning of the email state :

beneficiary's full name and date of Birth

Petitioner's full name and date of birth.

Then proceed to state your reason for writing, that is your case was transferred to NVC on so and so date and all necessary documents have been turned in and you are writing to find out your case status .
