You don't have to have evidence of joint bank accounts. We didn't. On the letter for the AOS interview, the other supporting evidence includes: life insurance, car insurance, health insurance, photos and correspondence that validates your relationship.

I took, car insurance, health insurance and photos. Of course, the more you have the better it is. Even so, the interviewer accepted what I had as she said she understood, without certain ID, it would be difficult to obtain things like bank accounts.

Good luck!

ps: My interview took place during this month.

pps: At the bottom of your interview notice, there is customer support number that you can call should you have questions regarding the interview or supporting evidence needed.

Does a spouse need to have her driver's license in order to add her to the car insurance?

Not necessarily. To be added as a driver, yes, but some companies will allow you to just add a spouse.

We had the interview on september/2011 and the IO asked us what do you have as evidence of your marriage? so we handed him insurance, DL, etc. but he paid special attention to the bank statements so both names could be on them. What we did was I added him in my checking account and he added me in his checking account where he has direct deposit from his job. I think is a good sign of a bonafide marriage when you trust your money to your spouse.

In the car insurance thats right the spouse can be added as an excluded driver if she doesn't have DL.
