If you haven't done so already, I would strongly advise you to get your state congressmen involved. The consulate will sometimes respond better to them than the petitioner. 5 months does seem long for an Indian consulate.

Do you have any idea why your case is in AP? Could it be a background check on a common name or are they assessing the authenticity of your relationship?

You haven't provided details. Which consulate did your spouse interview at? Are both of you Indian?

I am the petitioner.

We have already made our congressman involved once, but nothing happened. I was placed under AP cuz of common muslim name I guess. I don't know what sort of check they are doing, all I can say is it's getting late as hell! I provided with enough evidence of our relationship at chennai consulate. my wife is a USC.
