You and Gary are gonna find a source that links increased minimum wage with increased hiring of illegals. Good luck with that.

And here I was a few days ago reading the both of you cry about how we need to increase the minimum wages of berry pickers in order to decrease the hiring of illegal berry pickers.

rofl.gif

We do not need to increase any "minimum wage" We need to make sure that employers follow the laws and stop exploiting humans for profit by avoiding the laws we pass to protect humans dignity. ALL I want is a strict enforcement of exisitng laws to compensate and protect employees, which employee protections are YOU opposed to? I have suggested a huge, crippling TAX on any employer than hires illegals. I have NOT proposed an increase in "minimum wage for berry pickers". If you want to debate then do so with facts. If you do not know what I said...look it up, you know how.

Raising pay of berry pickers would not decrease the use of illegals. Making it economical suicide, padlocking the business for tax collection, for hiring illegals WILL decrease the use of illegals.

Legal berry pickers will be paid what the market for legal berry pickers demands. IF that is MORE than illegals are paid, then I am correct...illegals are being exploited for profit.

Thanks for confirming my point.

Nothing about FTE's here either.

To qualify for these credits, an employer either has to create a new position, or replace an existing position. He cannot have less FTE's than in the year prior. So, if a full time employee leaves for whatever reason, and is replaced by two part time employees working 20 hours each, then the employer has not lost an FTE. Further, he can take advantage of these new credits for hiring those two new employees if those two employees meet the requirements for the credits. Even better, since they are not full time employees, he doesn't have to provide them healthcare, or any benefits at all.

I have seen nothing in the link you provided that discusses this requirement. If a company downsizes and then later starts hiring again while staying below previous year FTE numbers, that company would be eligible for the WOTC as long as it hires from within the target groups. Where does it say that the FTE count from the previous year must be maintained or exceeded?

The two tax benefits are especially helpful to employers who are adding positions to their payrolls. New hires filling existing positions also qualify but only if the workers they are replacing left voluntarily or for cause. Family members and other relatives do not qualify.

I have suggested a huge, crippling TAX on any employer than hires illegals.

It costs about $20 to get a legitimate green card / social security card (fake but nobody can tell it's fake).

That is problem 1. You can't tax employers for hiring people that provide them with what appears to be proper identification.

Look at McDonalds. The kitchen is swimming with illegals. I briefly worked there when I was in high school - they even run a simple telephone background check. You punch in your SS# and it will give you the clearance. My guess would be the background check doesn't verify whether you are a legal citizen, probably looks for something like felony warrants. Cause there are a lot of illegals working as cooks at McDonald's, at least around here.

And then you have to look at it on an industry by industry basis. I'll agree with you 100% that it is a major problem in the construction industry. It's not fair to hire illegals in at minimum wage when the going rate in construction is much higher.

Probably the industry that should be least enforced would be the berry gathering industry. That's just being realistic.

All this stipulates is that you can't get the credits for hiring relatives and family. It also stipulates that you need to add to the payrolls or replace people that have been fired for cause or quit. It makes no reference to maintaining or adding to the prior year FTE count.

How much does it cost to get a fake E-verify clearance?

More than $20?

REQUIRE E-verfy for every hire. EVERY one, EVERY where, in EVERY industry. make it available to anyone so I can check a contractor working at my home. Make it available by phone and online. It CAN be done right now. There will be no more illegals swimming at McDonalds. The jobs you are talking about are exactly the ones that Americans WILL do for the wages being offered, those are the jobs that are being stolen from legal immigrants and citizens.

Impose a $100,000 per day tax on any illegal working and padlock the business until the tax is paid, or sell the business for unpaid taxes. They will do it to you if you do not pay workman's comp., why not if you hire illegals?

Construction and other trades, physical labor are the ones where the illegals are being exploited for cash.

Which is OK with you?

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

increased hiring of illegals is caused by me i hire them $10 per hour to trim my trees because the white man wont do it for less.

Of course, this is what racists do. If you find you are taxed $100,000 for each, your property seized and sold to pay the tax, I am guessing you will hire legal workers.

But thanks for reinforcing what point always is. Americans WILL trim trees (we have a lot of tree trimming companies here that hire Americans) but they will not do it for $10 per hour.

You do not care if these people are underpaid or have proper equipment to trim trees safely, you do not care if they have worker's compensation to help their families if they are injured in very dangerous work...I do. Most Americans do. Racists do not.

Crazy the world you want to live in.

*Team of GOVT investigators arrive with a piece of paper saying they will take a battering ram to your front door if you don't let them in.*

*Did you or did you not hire Pedro Gonzales to rake your leaves last year for $50?*

*Yes, that looks about right. He was a very nice and hardworking man. I referred him to all my neighbors. Does an excellent job. Is there a problem?*

*According to regulation 334 of the Gary/Alla administration, code 17, amendment 4, part b, page 1150, we are placing you under arrest for questioning. Your house is now government property until further investigation and court proceedings decide on your case. You have the right to remain silent, child protective services are on the way to remove your children, you are facing up to a $100,000 fine because of the crime you committed.*

*In good news, since the Gary/Alla administration enacted this new government agency Pedro Gonzales has self-deported.*
