I am the petitioner, my husband the applicant. We filed our I-130 and I-485 on June 10th, and on December 5th, we received the interview notice (I-797, Notice of Action) for our scheduled interview on January 10th at 10:30 am. I went through a ridiculous amount of drama to get the day off from work (I work with a human services org in New York and am still in my introductory probation period), and we found a letter in our mailbox yesterday stating that the interview has been cancelled "due to unforeseen circumstances." I called the Customer Service Center to no avail - I don't actually know how half of the people who staff the lines there were able to secure jobs in this economy, because they are the most unhelpful group I've ever encountered. They had no information that our interview was cancelled, and were, of course, unable to elaborate on the "unforeseen circumstances" the USCIS referred to, and could not disclose the number for our local service office here in New York, and instead told us to make a separate appointment through InfoPass (so that can probably be cancelled too). A friend of mine who works for an immigration law firm suggested we just go to the interview - and from what I've seen on older forums on VisaJourney, some have done that. Has anyone experienced this, and have they just gone to the originally scheduled interview anyways - with what result? My husband will be starting school at the end of February, and we were counting on this interview and his pending green card so he can pay as a domestic student, rather than double the tuition for international. Additionally, I can't keep taking off of work for interview with the oh-so-efficient USCIS. Suggestions, advice and comments much appreciated.

**On a separate subject, I made an appointment on InfoPass for my husband yesterday for January 6th that I am now trying to cancel but am unable to because there is no 5-digit PIN number found at the bottom of the letter. The USCIS strikes again - anyone know how to cancel this thing???
