11/2/2011 NOA1 date... Would 7/7/2012 be safe as a wedding date?

My I-129F NOA1 was late October 2008, for a planned wedding in early September 2009. That ended up being plenty of time, at least for going through the Vancouver, Canada consulate, which was known to be pretty snappy at the time.

We know we took a risk booking the venue and photographer and putting money down, but that was somewhat mitigated by the 11 month timeline, and especially by the discounts we were able to get by booking 2009 dates before January 1, 2009.

YMMV.

Honestly, it was foolish for you to set a big wedding in the first place Regardless, and RFE will be sent close to the end of the processing. We got ours at day 161 and were approved on day 178. So

The date is kind of tight. Just make sure you're prepared if your visa isn't approved in time. I would not set anything in stone just because you never know what can happen.

I wouldn't make any hard date until your process if finished. Plans great, put a down payment or plane tickets no way.

I agree.. not a good idea :( I am approved already and has interview date but we didnt start doing the reservations for marriage until my fiance gets the visa, We may have a tentative date in mind but no fixed plans yet...

This is exactly what Haidee and I are doing. The plan is to get married on paper as soon she gets here, the once we have enough money we are going to have an official wedding, one here and one in the Philippines...so technically we are going to be married three times :) Should I propose each time? hehe

Awesome!!! For his family in Australia we're just going to have a party since most of his immediate family will be coming to the big American one :3 For the planner in me its a dream come true :rofl:

We sent the I-29F Nov 2010, and planned our wedding to June 12th, 2011, and we had to change our wedding date, because our whole process from I-29F sent to my interview took 9 months. We changed our wedding date to August 21st, and I almost couldnt make it, since my interview was Aug 5th. I only got here in the US, one week before my wedding, we had to rush, but everything turned out fine.

If I was going through the processo again for a reason, I would have not chosen a wedding date, because I was so stressed worrying about if I could make it or not....
