We have an i-130 early AUG 2011 and an i-129f late AUG 2011. We received our NOA 1 for both but have not heard anything since. I thought to cancel the 129f but the folks at the SD said it would not make a difference as our visa applications are so far along and it may hold them up from both going forward. The 5th of JAN 2010 is our 5 month mark for our 130 and we have heard nothing. I dont want to call, scream, jump up and down because from what I have read, it wont accomplish anything. We were married in the USA in JUL 2011 and really really really regret her leaving due to "professional" obligations and commitments. This is weighing heavily on me/us and I know something will happen soon, I juts want to know what the hold up is and what can we do, if anything. :crying:

I hope you mean JAN 2011 not 2010!

The I-129F is likely holding up the I-130 and you probably would be approved or close to approved had you not sent the I-129F in.

You should call USCIS and put a service request in if they will let you. If not just wait.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Yes...2011. I think the emocons distracted me. Dont they get it? We are married. In a Church here in the US. How much of a delay could the 129f pose? Dont these people get it? I filed the 129f on the suggestion of a USCIS helpline question I had regarding the already submitted 130.

Thank you for your input.

Unfortunately USCIS does not operate on " care " and " feelings " they operate on whatever pile in whatever box they are on.

The " USCIS hotline " is always referred to as the "mis-information-line" on visajourney. The operators on the line give bad/improper/out dated advice.

If you read the guides and comparison charts on visajourney the I-130 is far more cheaper/faster and gets a green card on entry to the USA. The K-3 ( filing the I-129F after the I-130 ) is more expensive, takes longer, does not get a green card on entry and is most often closed at the NVC.
