Not true at all. I brought my baby back from Brazil. I went same line as her and we were together through the whole process of inspection. We went through USC line and they could not care less as long as she had papers. But we went through Miami as POE so maybe different.

Good luck and enjoy

10Yr GC arrived 07/02/09 - Naturalization is next

The drama begins - again!

And now the drama ends - they took the Green card . . .

1happyguy,

What was your port of entry? Was it LAX? Cause that's where my fiance and I will be entering through.

I have another question: (sorry, I'm at work and I'm kinda bored)

If the U.S. citizen enters with their fiance, what do you guys put on the forms when it asks if you are traveling with anyone. Do you list your fiance? (like I said, I'm kinda bored  )

There will be two forms.

USC gets a Customs Declaration. Fiancee doesn't count as family yet.

Immigrating fiancee gets I-94 + Customs Declaration. No Duty on personal goods when immigrating.

Was there another form you have in mind that asks who you're traveling with?

I'm sure you can fly with your fiancée, and I didn't see the comment you're referring to, but perhaps it was suggested that you might not be able to be with her during any inspection. Typically, there are 2 lines at the POE, one for US residents, and one for others. While I've not tried it, myself, I can't imagine why a US citizen couldn't go through the "others' line. Perhaps someone who has tried or done it will respond.

My fiance and I flew from Berlin to Los Angeles on August 23, 2006. When we arrived at LAX, I think we stood in the Permanent Resident line. Unfortunately, that was the wrong line to stand in. There is another line especially for new immigrants where all of the necessary paperwork is processed. Both of us stood in the new immigrants line. I was able to stand next to my husband the whole time while they took his fingerprints again and explain his conditional permanent residency to him.

Sure, a husband is 'family' for the Customs declaration.

As a non-immigrant, the K-3 will also complete I-94 and keep it in his passport.

Michelle,

1 Customs form for the family, 1 I-94 for the K3.

My fiancee and I also went through the Immigration inspection together - used the Citizen-LPR line. Then I went with her to secondary inspection for the examination of the Manila Envelope.

When we finished there it was off to the Customs inspection.
