Dead beat dads are bad. In general, that is. Not in Republican circles, though. There, they are Members of Congress.

Way to turn the death of a poor little 9-year-old girl into something political. She deserves more respect than that.

There are bad people in congress in both parties. Adulterers, deadbeat dads, you name it.

The point here is, no one makes a "deadbeat dad" but the dad himself. There's a love for your children that should supercede anything else in life. Choosing not to participate in your child's life and provide for them is a selfish choice that a father makes when he becomes a deadbeat dad. Same goes for deadbeat moms (there are some, not quite as many but they're out there!)

Whether welfare exists or not is a moot point. In my husband's country, there is no welfare and there are just as many, if not more, deadbeat dads. It's a problem throughout the world.
