I didn't talk bailouts and Bush was an idiot, but he didn't have or ask Wagoner to be replaced; that badge of honor belongs to BO.

Bush I believe signed the bailout, but didn't ask or want them to be bailed out.

Yes, Bush gave them billions no questions asked, no strings attached leaving the incompetent management that ran the company into the ground at the wheel. Smart move. Did they turn things around? No, they came back for mo' money. Only this time, that money came with strings attached. Changes at the wheel or no funds. Did GM then turn around? As Sarah would say: You betcha!

They went into effect @ December of 2008 after BO had been elected, BO took office @ mid January. So Bush was only at the helm for roughly 45days post auto bailout approval.

I might be wrong about timing, I am just going by articles I can find from that time...

So Bush poured the billions into these companies with absolutely no strings attached. Just like I said.
