I like the efficiency of being able to drop in for a 20-30 minute mass before work in the morning. That is efficient

I visited a different Catholic Church a couple weeks and had the best mass experience. It was a very old Church, over 150 years, next to the Capital Building in DC. In that mass, the Priest performed the pre-vatican traditional mass with his back to the congragation. As a bonus, there was also no singing (:secret:, I don't much care for singing cuz I can't sing ). The only time the Priest faced the congregation was during the homily. But, I usually don't much care for most Priest's homilies either....so if he had dropped that an gone straight to the Eucharist (the only reason I go to mass) then it would have been perfect, in my opinion :innocent: It was a Sunday morning mass and we were out in 30 minutes, and I got all that I wanted/needed from that mass.

I have never thought of the Catholic Church as preparing me for 'battle'... That never seemed our gig, but rather a Protestant gig (which they are very good at...) I always thought of Catholic Church as a 'toolbox' for existential growth toward a closer understanding of God. Again though, thats probably just me...

Blessings!

- I don't think I have been to the Church you mentioned though I have been to a few in D.C. I will have to check into that one on my next trip up.

To me there is nothing more deplorable than to go into an old place of beauty to find that back in the fifties or sixties, some hair brained Idea to "update" these places by gutting them and then refurbishing them in the style-of-the-week.

We have one such example not far from me at Belmont Abby College.

There is a book on this very movement of hacking up the old Churches and the damage done, I think it is titled "Ugly as sin", I'll pick it up one of these days.

The wife and I have visited close to half of the Missions in California. One thing I can say with certainty: Early Californians were short!

That's a rather small dose of whatever religion Lisinopril is. Never heard of that particular faith.

It is a Lutheran dialect. God's favorite religion.

I would imagine with the Demographic change they are moving back in that direction.

Not really. It seems that children born and raised in California where one or more parents are immigrant, tend to be a foot, or more, taller than the immigrant parent(s) by the time they enter high school. Of course, these days, they tend to be a foot, or more, wider as well.

Pfft. What about all the people with low blood pressure that don't attend church? I have low (bordering on TOO low) blood pressure and haven't stepped foot in a church since I was 16 (many moons ago). I find singing relieves stress. Good ol' scream at a catchy tune puts me in a great mood.

When i DID go to church i'm sure my blood pressure was low 'cause I was bored as h*ll and occasionally asleep (except when it came to song time, then I brightened up).
