I have a few questions about background check US usually do by GC application.

How deep might they check background in homeland (UK)?

Will it be just about last 5 years and criminal records?

If someone is not going to work with kids will they also check police records?

I'm looking forward to your answers.

I don't see why saying you're not going to work because you have kids should make anything different regarding criminal record and background check.

What are you planning to apply for? Not employment visa if you're not going to be working I guess.

How deep might they check background in homeland (UK)?

For obvious reasons the full nature of the checks they do are not rvealed. Assume they will check everything

Will it be just about last 5 years and criminal records?

No

If someone is not going to work with kids will they also check police records?

You supply your Police Records.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

In the UK people will be checked on proper way if they are going to work with kids like teacher or anything similar. Everything can be checked.

I'm wondering how does CRB look like if you are trying to obtain a green card.

I might have a police record but not criminal one and I'm wondering if it will show up.

Police record could be found in the UK. I have never been in troubles in the US.

Lawyers are involved with Employment Visa's. Have you discussed this with the Lawyer.

Can not quite work out what sort of record the Police would have if it is not criminal.

If you have ever been arrested, it will show up. You need to tell them anyway.

Even if there was "no action taken"? No conviction... Basicly it was just like few hours visit at the police station.

I doubt if the visitors book shows up on a police report.

Best thing to do is to get a police report and see what it says. It will depend on whether you were in fact arrested (if so, never lie to immigration!), or just "kept for your own safety" or whatever.

This was a specific "visitors book" as I got fingerprinted.

I'm not sure about asking... I might be in troubles by now, just don't know about this yet.

The questions they ask about such incidents are on the line of have you ever been arrested...
