in part c ? #2 of the I 129F it asks if u have 3 convictions reguarding alcohol,,,,,,im 54yo,,,in 1991 i lost my wife,,,i crawled in a bottle to forget,,resulting in 3 duis,,,last one 10 years ago...stupid i know but, it happened,,,so how do i answer the ? on the form?

Anwser it honestly, never lie, because they will do a background check with the FBI and will find out and that is worst than just telling them front on. which may jepordize your noa2.

you can also add an attachment just as you do with item #18(explaination of relationship)

explain just as you did right now about your experience of being an alcholic 10 years ago your poor choices and how long ago it was. they just want to make sure you are not a full time criminal, people who have made mistakes in life still get approved.

Never lie. answer yes. I doubt if these convictions will cause you any serious setbacks. First they were some time ago. Second you have a reasonable explanation, and third they have nothing to deal with the bigger concerns such as physical abuse.

I was in the same situation and had no problems. Enough to pay an immigration attorney to ask your question. You can have several simple DUIs and its not an issue. Immigration wants to be sure your fiance knows about your past alcohol offenses and if she wants to marry you regardless. Because my offenses were so long ago i wasnt sure if they were convictions or just arrests. I went on the FBI website,Filled out the forms ,had my prints taken and had my own FBI background check done. I sent the court and police records for the convictions shown on the FBI report. Ive heard of Other VJers recieveing RFEs saying they need to request a waiver for offenses. Its in the I 129 instuctions. If you decide to send your court and police reports you may want to write a letter to ask for a waiver if needed. You may avoid an RFE that way.

Never lie to the government about anything is right because that would be much worse than the 3 dui's. I did some research on arrest recently and saw where a guy "accidently" murdered his brother and spent 5 years in jail and was approved. I think it was a K-1 too. Search for yourself. It's on this forum. That being said, you have to discuss this with your fiance because they likely will bring it up and she should be able to discuss it with them or that would not look good. Submit any completed courses on substance abuse as well.

This is me thinking but if it was me in this situation, I would try to demostrate stability in my life and maybe not submit pictures with alcohol in them
