Greetings,

My USC wife faxed documents related to an expedite request Firday December 23rd.

1- Can we call USCIS to confirm that they received our documents?

2- How long will it take them to give a response ( approval or Denial )

3- If we got denial, as we faxed the same documents to her Senator's office, can he help our case go faster?

4- In case the Senator help the case go faster, will he accompany us until we got to the embassy and have a date set? or he will leave us half way ( NVC stage) ?

Thank you for your assistance guys, i am waiting for your opinions

1, yes you can call and try to confirm, they may or may not tell you though.

2, usually takes 5-10 days to hear something back about acceptance of expedite or not then you wait for them to process the case.

3, if you got a denial there is nothing you or a senator can do to make it faster - its already denied. You have to appeal or start over from the beginning.

4, the senator helps as long as you keep them involved and ask for the help from them.

Thank you,

the denial is not for the visa but for the expedite request. I read on the USCIS website that the approval or denial is at the Officer discretion. That is mean if the officer is not in good mood he could deny our expedite request. After this specific denial, couldn t i have the Senator involved as the same documents have been sent to him?

You could try but even if they denied the expedite they wont approve it because a senator called, its already been denied.

Generally you only get the senator involved when the processing time is beyond the expressed approximation dates by the service center. At that time a call from the Senator would (unassumingly, not always the case for some.) push the case to the top of the pile and get things moving.

Have the USCitizen Spouse call in, ask for an ISO, then ask for the expedite status.

Don't waste time with a CSR, and (again) make sure the USCitizen Spouse makes the call.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

yeah i did not have a nice christmas, because i am far from my wife and she is currently pregnant and sick. From your experience, do you see pregnant women with a doctor letter sent to USCIS as supporting documents to expedite request got approved?

I'm currently in the exact same situation you find yourself in. I'm in the military and requested via phone last Wednesday to have my case hurried. The same day I got an email requesting more information concerning my divorce documents. I faxed them the requested documents on Thursday.

I spent the rest of the day on Thursday (talked to 3 differnt people) to make sure they got my fax. None of the 3 would tell me if my fax was recieved or not. They all told me they do not have access to see if my documents were received, I could make an appointment with one of the local office to findout (I live 300 miles from the closest office).

Give it a try, please keep us updated on your request.

Interstingly..... They requested information about my divorce, not about my pending deployment (reason for the request).... Hummmmmmm....

Then that would be an email about an RFE - request for evidence. It is not about military expedite, we specifically got mail requesting military papers, orders and a letter from the commander for our military expedite request. The letter stated that without these items the request would not be accepted.

I am so happy Officer MINA just call my wife about the expedite, and he said he gonna approve us but he just want my wife doctor to write a formal letter instead of a simple note just like he did and that we faxed Friday 23rd. What a wonderful newsd for this tuesday. I am currently at work, i was praying on the desk and when i open my eyes i see my wife asked me to call. And when i call, she gives me that good news. All the Glory to God, Thank you LORD for your faithfulness and for how you care for me. AMEN!!!!!
