Well we are getting ready for the next stages in our immigration process. We plan this week to apply for Kieron's Social Security Number and our marriage license. We are planning our wedding for January 13, 2012 and then on to AOS!!!

Yes, onward indeed! We filled out the 10 page N-400 for citizenship on Christmas Day. Now to put the evidence with it, get some passport photos taken, and write a check for $680. Then we get to start ticking off that seventh and final line of blue boxes on our VJ timeline.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. Did you know if you marry before the end of 2011, you'll save income tax because Keiron will be counted as a spouse for the whole year? Have a look at the tax tables and estimate how much, because the higher the income, the more you save.

Find the approximate income, then compare your tax for Single vs Married Filing Jointly http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i1040tt.pdf
