Canadian K1

I have read many different things on the procedures of the K1..... they seem to differ by Country? Can anyone tell me the aprox. time frame and info needed for the Canadian K1? I am awaiting package 3, I have read some countries don't even have these anymore it goes straight to the interview? Is Monteral the only place to hold your interview and are there really only 3 places to take your medical?? I ask because I am a minimum of 18 hours from the closest. Any info would be greatly appreciated

No, K-1s are also done in Vancouver if you live in Manitoba west, and before you ask - if you are in Montreal's geography to interview there you cannot switch. So Montreal it is for you.

Yes, you can only do your medical in Vancouver, Montreal or Toronto. Sadly it is just the way it is.

I'm in Ontario, in the letter it stated Montreal was where it was going.... so I guess that's where I will go, after this wait I would go to timbucktoo So the way I understand it is, you go to Montreal a few days early , have your Medical and then do your interview??

Yes, that is what a lot of people do, make sure you go to your interview WITH your medical - failure to do that can significantly delay your case.

I was from Toronto, so I could go to the medical about a month before hand and then take the results to the interview in Montreal.

Yep Montreal has everything on their website and you can go ahead and print it / send the stuff in etc. Lots of people never even get P3 in the mail from them for whatever reason.

Great information here! My fiance is in the EXACT same spot. Lives in ON and he doesn't have a car. Apparently theres a train that goes right to Montreal, but sure sucks!
