Korean Police Reports (for K1 Interview in non-Korean Embassy)

We're looking to see if anyone has specifically had a Korean Police Report for use in a non-Korean Embassy.

All foreign language documents in the Visa interviews are required in English with translation, but this is kind of a tricky topic: my fiancee lived in Korea and obtained her police record, and requested English for the purposes of using it for a US Visa interview. Has anyone been through a similar process?

She's uncertain about opening the police report (her local police report has instructions that if it is open it's invalid), but she's unable to translate it or verify if English was used without opening it :help:

What would you do? Has anyone had a similar experience pop up?

I would not open the police report. I would just assume it's in English as requested. If you find out at the interview that it is not they won't deny you for it. Most likely they will either tell you its ok or ask that you return with a translated copy. During this process I've found the things we stress the most about end up not being an issue. I'm sure this isn't a very satisfying answer but short of requesting another english translated police cert to open I'm not sure what other options you have. Maybe someone else wil have another idea.

In the meantime I would figure out places that you can get the police report translated if needed. You could also call the issuing authority for the police report to try and confirm the document is English but given your current doubts I'm not sure that will put your mind at ease.

Best of luck and I'm betting this is going to be a whole lot of worry for nothing.
