Hi every nice, loyal, and experienced visajourney users,

My US fiancé sent in the I-129F package on the 1st week of December 2011, since he used the form of G-1145, he got an email saying that they have received the package. He got the email on the 13th Dec but on the uscis.gov case status site says that they got it on the 8th Dec.

My 1st question is this: isn't he supposed to get the NOA1 by now? All they said in the email is basically that they got the package and then they is sending it out to the Vermont Visa Center.

2nd question: the whole precession times that is commonly about 5-6 months would only starts after he got the NOA1 or when? Is just we would like to kinda know n prepare for when to make the plan for the rest of the stuff. I need to ask to leave work 6 months b4 I have to actually b leaving work,so I kinda need to know what exactly is going on.

3rd question: he hasn't got the NOA1, is he supposed to contact someone about it?

4th question: what to do now?

5th question: what kinds of questions do they usually ask at the interview?

Thanks so very much guys! Your inputs are very much appreciated!

Do you have a case number starting with EAC? You may not get an actual hard copy but if you know it has been received and you have a case number then you are good to go. The 5 months is usually from the NOA - which it seems you already have. If you go to the Wiki tab at the to of the page and do a search for 'interview questions' you'll get a list of possible questions

good luck

you are fine, your hardcopy noa1 is rarely asked for or needed. I thought i didn't get mine but ended up that my mom was taking all the mail into her room and putting in a stack. i called the uscis and they promised me that they sent it. i found it a month later. you are probably more diligent than i about searching the mail but as long as you has your uscis reciept # you will be fine. the noa2 is the one you really need for the AOS once you are married

HAppy Waiting!

1. NOA1 can take around a month or more. NOA1 is the receipt.

2. The "whole" time isn't 5-6 months. The time between NOA1 and NOA2 is around 3-6 months. The other part is around 3 months.

3. Give it a month or so. It's not really important that you get it, but if you don't it could mean they don't have his address right and THAT is a problem.

4. Wait. Lots and lots of waiting.

5. How you met, stuff like that. Look at the reviews section of this forum.

He doesn't "have the NOA1". The NOA1 is a receipt. It's a piece of paper and not an email.

It took about a month to get the first notice, and about 7 months start to finish. Now is when patience kicks inn, hopefully. The most important thing is to keep in contact, save everything for the interview. share your experiences here. Good Luck.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

Oh ya,

To loveandcinta: ya, so nice to meet u here =) thanks for the reply. I do have a question, did u mean it took u about 4 months from u petitioned till u actually get the visa? Thanks

No, start from the Noa 1 ( August 11th 2011) to Noa 2 ( December 20th 2011). Still waiting our case number from NVC. The rest is depends on how fast NVC sent the approved I-129F to U.S Embassy in Indonesia and how fast you can complete packet 3 to get your interview date and of course, the Visa. :)
